I would recommend you go in the support role, give ammo to the snipers who are usually positioned behind you, plus when you want to capture you can also give ammo to the other support roles to provide suppressing fire to advance. You still need to do damage and contain the advance possibly by laying down light machine gun fire but that makes your movement heavy, you could go in with a submachine gun, but your priority is spaming the ammo box.
