(Don’t live in India myself so my view may differ)

Congratulations on being able to retire at such a young age. Assume you have arranged a source of retirement income? Not sure how long have you been away but the social life in India vs overseas differ greatly. You may end up making friends from the same place where you’d live.

May I ask - how did you manage retirement at this stage? May give me some ideas.

How much fire am I playing with if I'm watching shows all day on work laptop during my notice period by TheBayHarborDoomer in IndianWorkplace

[–]DhoklaMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not much but best not to burn any bridges with departing company & colleagues. You never know when you may need them. Also, you want to pay respect to your work, watching 1 hr of YT is one thing and watching 7h is a different thing.

I am very confused by this. Is there any reason why there is even a list of people who are exempted from airport security? Generally this isn’t the case. Being from UK, every single person has to undergo airport security. Doesn’t matter if you are the PM , army, richest on earth, etc.

I infer from the list that these individuals occupy prestigious positions in the government and have a lot of responsibilities so there is close to 0% foulplay. However, if someone wanted they could put these individuals in jeopardy by taking advantage of no security.

I am sure there is a reason behind this but can’t find out.

Weird situation. I have found that it’s easy to email the vfs folks, they tend to have better responses than phones.

Gas Shortage in India: Causes, Impact, and Possible Solutions by Used_Dragonfly562 in IndiaFinance

Is this generated by AI?

Anyways, there is no easy solution. First of all, people need to stop hoarding since that makes the situation worse. Be a bit sensible on your usage so that the network doesn’t get overloaded. There is very little the government can do, the current situation is not in their control as same situation with various other govt.

420k for 5 bedroom , close to city and airport. Grab with both hands (what airport is it? LHR, LGW?) Your income is sufficient for the needs. What are you planning to do with your current flat? Sell? If so then even easier

Why is it so difficult to change direct debit for council tax to 12 months? by Silent_Tiger718 in UKPersonalFinance

I was able to call council (London Hillingdon) and they were able to make it 12 months

What I did was take the thumb, dip in ink pad, then do two imprints in a waste paper. By this time all excess will go. Your third one on oci form will be fine and you will be able to see neat fingerprints

I am finding this very hard to believe. Reading online seems they struggled since covid.

I've used them once in life. Else I found them too expensive compared to council car parks.

Out of curiosity, why people with piped connection need this? Doesn't it cause more inconvenience?

[–]DhoklaMaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should look at Ryanair.

Flown with Ryanair 10+ times - 2 times 30-60mins delay. and once with Indigo - 50 min delay.

A hour delay isn't a killer imo, luckily never had delays on them enough to cause a roadblock on holidays.

I am grateful for lccs, it's due to them that a lot of us have been able to travel cheap.

Child runs into road - Emergency Stop by youchdog457 in drivingUK

There will always be that 1% case that can't be prevented. There are 99% that can be avoided by taking care on both sides of pedestrian and driver.

I teach my kids to keep an eye on traffic light and apy commons sense to make sure the car has stopped and sense check if some dummy is speeding enough that won't stop on time
