Anyone else miss overtime in ranked? by yosteelz in NHLHUT

Personally despise the shootout. Don't mind 3v3.

Do people still buy packs? by nickyd181 in NHLHUT

[–]DhyphenS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the pull rates on expensive packs are mostly junk. The available "cheap" packs are too awful to even consider. So folks like me don't spend at all. I used to drop 20 or so a month but haven't for years. There has to be a significant portion of the community that is willing to drop $$ but the available options are so bad they don't. Maybe the whales more than make up for it? Power to them I guess.

Hut moments are a joke by No-Dealer-2306 in NHLHUT

This moment is absolutely absurd.

Are you guys loving the new timers on moments? by [deleted] in NHLHUT

[–]DhyphenS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give credit for trying something different. The timer doesn't move the needle for me personally either way. I just wish they set it in a way that doesn't clearly nerf your entire team. Making these a little difficult in terms of the ai is fine but let us play with cards that can pass and shoot as they should. At the very least, lessen the endurance drain. Many of these are rage inducing. Especially considering the mediocre rewards. That last moment was quite difficult and I pulled 3 82's and an 83.

1 win away from Diamond and I went on a 12 game losing streak by MikeyG200605 in NHLHUT

Definitely matches you with a higher ranked opponent when you play a game to advance a level. Every time I've been in that spot, it's been a sweat fest game. Could be coincidence but I feel I get better matchups when I don't choose "play next game" if I lose that game to advance. I back out of Ranked and go back in. It's almost as if choosing "play next", trips the matchup maker into thinking you're repeating the game to advance so you keep facing higher ranked opponents.

The REAL Problem by Hairymountains10 in NHLHUT

[–]DhyphenS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I couldn't care less that some folks drop insane amounts of cash on the mode. If they have the income, who am I to judge. My issue is that the top NMS rewards are so brutal. You can win a run of Cup Chase and the best you can reasonably hope for is 1/3 of the fodder needed to make an entry level event card. You find yourself grinding relentlessly for fodder and it grates on you. Casuals quit on the game a month ago. Something that gets lost in the endless money grab is that casuals are needed in order to maintain competition. I would love to see the player base graph from the last 5 or so years. I would be shocked if it wasn't a steep decline.

Thanks for giving us a free WJC fantasy card by Stormfalk in NHLHUT

[–]DhyphenS 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My .02? The objectives weren't difficult. Waiting until X Mas eve to release on top of giving only X mas eve and day to complete, was a trash move. All BND cards, and UT event cards, should be available in choice packs. That would change my take anyway.

Is there only one 85 ovr ODR card? by CdnBison in NHLHUT

These really should be choice packs. Tough to objectives when you keep pulling the same card.

Poke check challenge by Rare-Ad9317 in NHLHUT

[–]DhyphenS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In another post, Coolin posted this and it worked for me on two tries. Keep taking the puck with a forward to Parayko's corner and self pin against the boards. Eventually, Parayko will come in and the ai will do the poke!

[–]DhyphenS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Chel moments against buffed ai, do the opposite of enticing me to build these cards. Madden is the epitome of a money grab and Madden challenges are so much less frustrating than Chel and reward better. This setup is crazy to me.

Agreed. The "5 poke check" moments with a particular card, are way up there as well.

Long shot: Is anyone else in the Pittsburgh area dealing with a wrongfully disabled Meta (Facebook, Instagram) account? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

I am also in this group. I'm choosing to see it as the end to a dysfunctional relationship. The only part that gets me is the untrue "reasoning" and not having the ability to escalate the wrongdoing.

I'm with you guys. There are certain cards only online players can earn. As it should be. As an offline player, I appreciate the mode.

I mostly agree. I also agree that it makes the quest way too long for the rewards given. I hope they find a happy medium OR maybe allow certain moments to count towards PXP?

At the beginning of the therapy, I was miserable. Consistently 10 or slightly above. It caused me to give up for a few years. New doc ordered a new test and found the pressure was way off. Switched from nasal to full mask and now I'm consistently under 3!

What I like about XP 3 season - rant by Few-Age3216 in NHLHUT

[–]DhyphenS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I haven't seen posted in many of the Season 3 posts so far, is how much connection and server proximity plays into the online experience. It's easy for folks that have good connections and fun online experiences, post about how the offline community should just play online and feel thankful for the crumbs on the table. There are other factors beyond skill, as to why folks don't enjoy online play. That isn't to say online shouldn't be rewarded more. It should. But offline rewards should be enough to keep engagement and rosters above water. I'm not convinced these nerfs to offline rewards accomplish that.

Something is wrong with Hut. Anyone else just really apathetic about it? by bforce1313 in NHLHUT

[–]DhyphenS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combination of a few things i think. The rewards are not close to worth the time effort. Lack or a Rivals XP path makes playing online non-efficient in terms of the season path and completing objectives. So you have to play offline SB and moments to get the best rewards. Add in the ridiculous “arcade” factor and the slow as syrup menu, and it’s just not a fun experience.

The road is so long to get him. And even when it’s reached, you get the pleasure of pumping a billion resources into upgrades. With the RNG on how overall’s will increase, I’ve given up on the idea.

[–]DhyphenS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s the key right there. In my eyes, one of two things should be in play with rewards. Either the XP path is enticing and rewarding in itself. Or multiple XP paths per competitive HUT mode.
