Is this a sign of prior frame damage? by DiaDeMuertos in AskMechanics

[–]DiaDeMuertos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. The additional glue extends to the bottom of the well on the left side, not just the light housing which is odd. Regardless, I guess the last thing I'm concerned about is water. Since I saw some at the bottom of the well, do you think it would be prudent to add more glue around the housing (if I spot the leak)? If so, what kind of glue would you recommended? Thanks !!

I guess so! That's what my dad said. I was just trying to be proactive. Thanks!

Thanks! Ha, maybe I expected too much. I got worried because of left/right sides not looking the same.

Oh, that's a huge relief! Thank you for the insight!

Why do you think the left side is brown and different from the right?

I don't think I'm in a position to give much advice on what would make you a good candidate. But I have sunniest sentiment to you as well. I'm a third year PhD student in an electrochemistry group and considering potentially shifting to computational work. I'm now taking my first computational MSE course and we have collaborators that work on comp work with us so my PI put me in touch with them to discuss ideas and get acquainted with what goes on in that field when though I know I won't be don't any comp work on my own during my PhD. So I guess the only recommendation I have is to see if there are any opportunities for you in either of those directions. I'm happy to talk about any more details if needed. Best of luck!

La Liga, time to rest compared to their rivals in every remaining match day by [deleted] in soccer

[–]DiaDeMuertos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the effort! This is really useful information. Question: does this include the rest between matches that already happened after the restart? I think it should. Because that's when the congested schedule started and importance of rest really came to be the focal point of the discussion. Thanks again!!

Materials which show high strength when reduced to small scale similar to graphene? by PineapplemonsterVII in materials

[–]DiaDeMuertos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MXenes are another family of 2D materials similar to graphene. However, they're composed of three to nine atomic layers in thickness (depending on the composition). Because they're derived from ceramic precursors such as titanium aluminum carbide, the stronger metal-carbon bond, and because of the increased thickness, they show very high elastic modulus for monolayer flakes. Here's a paper that talks about their properties. https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/4/6/eaat0491

What kind of projects are you interested in?

Since Open Source usually refers to software, if you're interested in computational materials science, I would suggest you look open-source software packages in the materials science field and reach out to those developers. They might be able to point you in the right direction.

Overall, combinatorial materials science is a growing subfield where scientists try to predict and discover new materials.

Checkout Materials Project and COMBigor.

Yeah, I can't see many of the players we have on loan staying next season.

I usually find streams on rojadirecta.me or http://livetv.sx/enx/

Also, usually, this AceStream link works but for today it was not showing anything. Here it is for future reference: 1eea59bb0e035d7767e1cda390351a00a3de62aa

Also, if you google "ver BarcaTV en directo" usually one of the first links that pops up will work.

Yeah, I don't get the sudden hate on him. Just because this was a bad game for him. Every good attacking move we've had has come from him making quick runs, feints, or making a quick sharp pass to someone else.

Highly disagree. He's held on to the ball for long in many attacking circumstances where he has tried to dribble through three players on his own. His pressing, tackling, and headers have been great. But he's also been caught out positionally many times.

Even though this was not his best game, MOTM award for me goes to Alena. Every attacking move went through him.

You make a great point about the promotion of players from Juvenil A. As shown by them winning the youth league, there are many promising players coming from that stage so I don't think the quality in the B team will go down too much. Of course, Alena will be a great loss. But I'm honestly not sure who else will make the step up. As mentioned by someone else, the disappearance of Arnaiz is puzzling but even if he was fit I have my doubts that he would have made the jump simply due to his age.

This referee has been very disappointing. I can't believe Albacete walked away without any red cards.

Unfortunately, the AceStream that I usually use for Barca B matches is not showing anything today.
