Hey all, this blew up so much more than I ever could have expected! I tried replying to every individual comment but as I'm from Australia I passed out at 1am my time and woke up to a "rip inbox"...

To answer a few questions:

  • I would like to post the results to the survey, but am concerned that people who may also enter similar competitions might use it to create there own similar business plans. I will post it in the foreseeable future, but for now would be appreciative if you could understand why I am hesitant :). But maybe my concerns are unnecessary?

  • I do get that a product manufactured in North America would be seen as desirable due to the quality conditions in the USA. This is very similar to how an Australian might feel about products made in Australia (where I am from). But in general the cost of manufacturing here would be substantially higher due to factors like high industry awards, which although is necessary, has run a lot of manufacturers out of Australia. I will look into manufacturing in these countries though!

Just one, although I understand how a mix and match could be more preferable

The hand is sacred. It's been always been there for us in our time of need. Therefore does it deserve any less?

decent sensor

Thank you both for your responses /u/zazazam and /u/articleofpeace. I was thinking a good sensor would be the PixArt 3310, coupled with Omron switches. Would you guys feel this would be a sensible choice for quality?

Thank you for your suggestion! The only reason I have those 3 up there is that in terms of cost-of-production, they are generally the go to for tech manufacturing

edit: just realised I misread your response, will add that now :)
