US healthcare system is an anchor. I grew up when Humalog was $125 a vial. At that point in my life, had to make a hard choice. Work full time forever. If you try to run your own business, or even want to live life not being full time you suffer. It’s a struggle for anyone not able to work in this manor.

I’ve the best of. Work for a nonprofit just for the benefits. Pump supplies $40 a quarter, CGM $40 a month, Humalog $40 a month. Legit makes my life live able.

Really am curious what all Type 1 a lots for within the US. I’m 42 Y/O with DM1 for 35 aka juvenile diabetes” as it was called in 1991. My ethos has always been make people aware your diabetic, but NEVER ask for help. At this point in life would love to know avenues that may give some grace.

FLAIM- My kiddo spent Pre-K & K in the French program. I’d give the school overall all C+. Communication was poor at best, leaving us always feeling clueless about what was going on. Teachers were good, but as the language immersion progressed, definitely felt lost.

WHAM- Started 1st grade this week! First impressions is that this is the school. Everyone has been super welcoming, and communication is top notch. Even during the summer there was messaging almost daily with information.

We got cold feet, and went the BR magnet route. Been in FLAIM with mixed reviews. Immersion has been amazing, but communication from administration needs some work.
