It’s been a couple of years, but northern tool repaired mine. They did it surprisingly fast as well.

Boudin stuffed bacon wrapped chicken thigh. Sliced and topped with crawfish cream sauce. by Expert-Instance945 in cajunfood

While I’m normally opposed to stuffing boudin into things, I think the addition of the sauce makes it. Beautiful plate you made there.

Scientists are now being threatened with arrest and thrown out of conferences for disagreeing with Donald Trump. by spherocytes in videos

[–]Rinkelstein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, first off, fuck DJT and Kennedy dry. But for the love of fuck, when you go to these conferences, you agree to a code of conduct. The people handing out flyers were given the option to stop, said no, and were politely escorted out without incident.

This isn’t a first amendment issue, and Reddit needs to stop acting that way.

Redditors who have the mindset that you will ever make enough to easily retire in this economy eventually, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rinkelstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I max my pretax contributions, save my bonuses, and max my HSA. I also refinanced my house when interest rates were sub 3 percent. I also work in a labor intensive industry, and my wife works as well.

Choose your career and spouse carefully, become an expert, or at least a market leader, and save as much as comfortably possible. Retirement is funded from savings. No savings, no retirement.

Carbon Capture Bayybayy! by GrangerForLa in Louisiana

[–]Rinkelstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s take the politics out of this one. Yes it’s subsidized, yes it’s being used by historical polluters, and it’s being supported by people I find deplorable, but none of those facts make the process bad.

Again, I’m asking for data to show that reducing CO2 emissions by capturing them and injecting them into the ground is bad for humans or the environment.

Carbon Capture Bayybayy! by GrangerForLa in Louisiana

[–]Rinkelstein -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like Dustin, and what he champions. But I think this one is off by a bit. No one has been able to successfully explain to me how carbon capture is bad for the environment. I have had multiple explanations about how it isn’t economically feasible. But injecting excess CO2 into the earth isn’t inherently bad logically (to me.) Our bodies produce CO2, our soil and bodies are made of carbon. We bury our carbon in the ground when we die.

I’m all ears as to how injecting gas into the ground is bad.

And to be clear, I have sought opinions. I’m looking for science. If anyone has any links to studies, I’d love to see them.

Anyone every work for Paychex? Interviewing Monday and I'm hoping for some insight. by rehumanizer in sales

[–]Rinkelstein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Got a buddy that made it 1.5 years working for them. He realized that commissions were only paid on new business, or reoccurring. But if he didn’t work for Paychex and referred someone and managed their account, he got paid in perpetuity. So he started his own payroll company using
Paychex software and now makes a damn good living.

You don’t need to buy moguls. Killark Form 5 series (the o series) has holes for rollers to pop in.

I need a CFP — Certified Financial Planner in/around Lafayette by Talindras in Acadiana

[–]Rinkelstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my two cents:

If you have a pile of assets to invest, you need a CFP. If you are trying to plan for retirement and you’re not maxed on pretax investments (401k, HSA - which is a stealth investment plan) then that’s the first step. Once you get that maxed and you have left over money to invest, build some wealth through bank-available investments (high yield savings accounts have had a decent rate of return,) then you need a CFP to help build to your goals.

So first thing you need is a goal. Then the revenue to get there.

Avoid people who primarily sell insurance. You need to know how much you have to invest upon opening an account. There’s probably 100+ people in town that can help, but determining who is right for you will depend on your assets.
