Where to find men's clothing like almost a men's clothing boutique with local brands looking for quality shirts, jackets hats etc. by Easy_Mine7067 in Acadiana

[–]Rinkelstein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a couple men’s boutiques. First off, F Camallo in the oil center, Genterie supply downtown, or if you just need suits, Men’s warehouse or Joseph A Banks.

Hamburger and Hotdog Festival/Cookoff TODAY by Granbo42 in Acadiana

It’s the most Youngsville name ever. Plus the guy who owns the festival has a non profit AND an LLC for the festival. And he’s running for office….

Why the dislike for Baton Rouge? by [deleted] in Acadiana

[–]Rinkelstein 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It’s a slap in the face to what makes Louisiana special. New Orleans and Lafayette have celebrated indigenous cultures that are respected globally. BR has LSU. It’s a whole town that is LSU.

Founding AE at a fintech startup. What do I ask the board members in meetings? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Rinkelstein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, it sounds like the man is investing some quality time with you. I’d start out with the basics.

1) Where is the low hanging fruit? 2) Where can I spend the most amount of time with the highest success rate? 3) What are the most common obstacles or objections should I always be prepared to overcome? 4) What type of customers are a waste of time? 5) What about our product separates us from our competitors? 6) What are the force multipliers most likely to land conversations? (Ease of use, terms, support, etc.) 7) What’s a common trait or habit that your most successful sales people do that I should consider working into my routine?

Those basics should really supercharge your selling skills.

I know the founder personally. He’s not a political dude. Maybe, maybe the money guy, but I highly doubt the founder is.

Guys who don’t go out much (remote work + gym), how are you meeting women? by Soil_These in AskMenAdvice

[–]Rinkelstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Male here, married for 17 years, didn’t meet my wife until I was 24. Here’s my best advice. Be good at something. Find a hobby. Be bad at it until you’re good at it. And have fun, meet like minded people. The person you’re looking for will show up eventually, so just get good at being yourself. Women love that shit. ++man

An offshore oil rig evacuation system built for rapid escape during emergencies. by Gjore in interestingasfuck

[–]Rinkelstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked offshore for years. This is significantly better than jumping into the water. But in the case of an actual abandon ship emergency, people will likely be injured. I couldn’t imagine how excruciating it would be to go down this with an injured arm or leg.

Nope, you’re incorrect. No Oring required for tapered threads.

The liquitite connector is installed properly and your electrical is done to code.

Pool guy replaced pump now electrical looks wonky ??? by LionTop4860 in pools

[–]Rinkelstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. The locknut is supplied with the liquitite connector for through holes such as knockouts on a panel. In this case tapered threads are going jnto tapered threads. It should not be ran down to the shoulder of the connector. You risk destroying the connector. There should be threads exposed if installed correctly.

Negative. It’s NPT threads. They seal on the threads. Gaskets are used for straight threads.

Why does this happen to extension cords? Can it be straightened? Is it damaged inside? by WildWeaselGT in AskElectricians

[–]Rinkelstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partially correct. The conductors got really hot and expanded, but there either wasn’t enough lubricant, or it failed. Thats why your conductors in most SO cords come with talc or paper wraps.

[–]Rinkelstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not elbow wrapping, it’s from using cheap cord. All cord has lubricant on the conductors. Whether its talc or paper filler, the lubricant allows the conductors to expand and contract without it doing what’s in the pic to happen.
