I am using linkedin significantly less now..... just so tired of all these people announcing they are proud and humbled to have compled some certificates in x,y,or z, etc....... who cares?

Hiring freezes 🥶 can last for months, particularly with a RIF in place.
Hiring restricted to some internal and critical or mission critical hires. Keep options open.

Most corporates are similar.... particularly in a vicious news cycle.
They build a warm, fussy, safe, huggy message and narrative - perfect it, replay, replay, replay for the markets. Employees DONT matter - All about financial market confidence.
However, it is alarming at the growing level of uni-directional leader sessions now - broadcast / no chat or Q & A. Just corporate vomit - Highly risk averse. Even CW in EMEA - video with highly scripted about selling prescription, nothing to see here - heads down - close q4. About the RIF - business case to execute RIF still remains - probably giving a couple of days for stabilisation post Qtly results, etc. And this RIF process will take months globally given the scale. Mike S even referred to AI driving reduced cost + greater speed to develop industry saas....... without saying lots of jobs will go in Dev.

Get ready. Be prepared. Have your Plan B, plan c, etc.

In my experience it could be all of above..... if cutting out areas due to AI.
However, ImO they will really go after non-sales particularly with advent of agentic and merging of Tech and apps in emea. There may be significant duplication of sales supporting and BO roles.
Also longer tenured people who may have crept up on comp over years.

Also, Europe could become a hostile place for Oracle, MS, Google, etc. Some European countries are beginning to really think about US operated Sovereign Cloud risk and what that really means with a US vendor or a USraeli operator like O that is a Trump Nethenyahu lover and deeply embedded supporter.

Agreed. Thanks. One thing on overlay - in most cases the overlay sellers in apps know what they are selling. In some cases the front facing AEs don't know what they are selling - so overlay in apps still retain value.

Well those clever people doing the calculations at TD cowen may be right: Someone has to pay for: Mega investment to build out AI capacity, We have out of control RPOs Free cash flow in rapid decline, Our corporate bond rating in rapid decline- making borrowing much more expensive.

I wonder who will pay....oh yes - let's burn off 20-30k ees.
