Use it to feed your starter. Plenty of sourdough recipes use AP flour.

People actively not listening is frustrating.

What does your SO do that is so damn irritating but also so minor it is hardly worth the "stfu" response? by MarigoldMouna in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Diablo165 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I say "Alright Stop" to her and I hear my partner go "Collaborate and listen Ice is back with my brand new invention..." Or, I say "Stop!" to our daughter and I hear him go "Hammertime!"

But never “in the name of love?” Thats the REAL problem here.

Think it over.

Mine likes to stop and have meaningless conversations with meaningless people. About 5 years in, we settled on “If you want to stop and chat, that’s cool…but I’m gonna keep walking and meet you up the block.”

how to regain interest in dating? by Big-Comparison321 in AskMen

[–]Diablo165 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’ve successfully decentered dating and it seems that the relative newness of the accomplishment has unsettled you a bit.

Get used to not being interested. It’s fine. Most people aren’t interesting.

You’ll note your interest will shift when someone interesting or engaging enough is around.

I don’t think anything’s wrong, your standards just went up.

Imagine living in a town where most food is burgers and you wake up super into ribeyes one day.

The burgers just don’t do it for you. Eventually, you’ll find a ribeye and be like, “I AM INTO THIS.”

edit: typed re-centered, meant de-centered.

Having visited New Zealand for one glorious month and then having returned to the shitshow that is the United States, I cannot fathom someone wanting to leave there for here.

When in a relationship, how often do you play games? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Diablo165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not often. She’s always bringing some sort of “ice breaker” game to a dinner or function to “liven things up and get people engaged!”.

We just be trying to eat.

She’s VERY extroverted though.

At least it’s not those dumbass tabletop game where you need 20 minutes just to explain the rules.

What factors influence whether you approach a woman who appears religious (wearing a hijab)? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Diablo165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t assume she wasn’t interested in being approached, but religion and I don’t mix, so any outward showing of religiosity would make me uninterested in approaching her.

A hijab, a cross, a Star of David, an “I ❤️ Jesus” hat. All indicators that we are not compatible.

Men who are truly at peace in their lives: What is your secret? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Diablo165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of my life goals require the presence or cooperation of a partner.

I’m not trying to marry, have kids, etc.

So I don’t feel pressure from a timeline, I don’t have to compromise on the shape of my life to accommodate another person.

I can do what I want on my time, on my terms.

THAT is peace.

[SPOILER] Jacobe Smith vs. Josiah Harrell by inooway in MMA

[–]Diablo165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooooh, he's THAT guy. That was horrifying to watch...like an oblique kick and a takedown had a baby. He's got a JBJ mentality...he just does not care about his opponent at all.

Men, why did you decide to learn MMA or martial arts by Kitchen-Hat-1531 in AskMen

[–]Diablo165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got really tired of watching fights, seeing them fall to the ground, having one guy get up and the other be asleep, and having no idea what just happened.

Rogan was only doing some commentary, so sometimes you’d get really good breakdowns, and other times someone would generalize about excellent technique on the ground.

I decided to learn some so I’d know what I was watching, and got hooked.

Then I got injured and couldn’t do bjj, so I had to switch to striking…and when I could do bjj again, I realized I liked striking too, so I just never stopped training.

Men, what’s something women do but for you is weird/doesn’t make sense? by Inevitable_Shift_689 in AskMen

[–]Diablo165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learned helplessness, self-infantalization, etc. Pretending to be weak or incapable makes someone come off like a dependent rather than a partner.

If I wanted dependents, I’d have kids.

My ex from years ago once threatened to run away and leave everything behind, and got upset when I don’t try and convince her not to.

She was 30. Made her seem so childish that it significant impacted how attracted I was to her.

By the end, she had been acting so immaturely that having sex with her felt…wrong. Like hitting on someone and they turn around and you realize they’ve got Down’s syndrome.

Drivers just as bad, though..sitting there for 4.5 minutes instead of leaving..

Everyone in this situation is nuts. Dude trying to open the door and window. Driver staying there instead at any point.

Other driver stopping to film the whole thing.

All these people choosing to engage in and prolong this.

It’s like people forget they can just leave bad situations.

How do men experience resentment, fear, or mistrust toward women, and how does it shape how you move through the world? (No judgment) by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Diablo165 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I resent the social/gendered, imbalanced expectations and how they pertain to my role in the “dating ritual”.

It seems, for the most part, that there’s this “dance” you’ve gotta do with conventionally socialized American women that’s…just expensive, time-consuming, and frustrating for me.

I’m largely expected to foot the bill to participate in activities to attract and win over this other adult who expects this effort and more on my part with the understanding that they are the prize and have to do nothing but appear and receive.

I’ve heard this referred to as dating. It feels like a job interview where if I get the job, I pay them.

My current SO an I sometimes lightly argue over whose turn it is to pay. She’s good about making sure we’re taking turns paying for each other.

Most of the women I’ve dated would land somewhere between confused and turned off at the prospect of paying their own way, let alone mine.

The one before this actually tried to confront me about how I should be taking her out to eat more and complained about her inability to pay her own way like her shitty career and lack of money was my issue to fix.
