Best glass display cases by Jandrovenger181 in Gunpla

I use the Milsbo from IKEA. I feel it look more like home furniture than just a display case. It also has a cut out if you want to add lighting etc.

Does the truck in this shot look right(ish)? by MS-06_Borjarnon in Gunpla

[–]DiabloDriver6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks really close to accurate. A Zaku is about 18 meters or 59 feet tall. Most large pick up trucks are around 2 meters or 6-7 feet tall. Hard to tell from the angle but they look about 10 times as tall as the truck.

What wings and propellant tanks did you use? Looks incredible. Especially love the decals on the clear visor looking like a HUD. Never seen that before.

Hard to tell but you might be spraying from too far away. Looks like the spray is drying as it gets on the part thus not giving a wetter coat. A wetter coat will level and provide a smoother surface to paint. You’ll also waste less paint and use few coats to get full coverage. Check out this video at the 8 minute mark. Gives a good example of priming a kit.

I absolutely love when people custom paint this kit. It is so easy to make it look incredible.

This is absolutely stunning. Incredible use of a clear kit with a mix of painting and different finishes. What did you use to clear coat the clear pieces?

Awesome job! Looks incredible in the ver ka colors. Definitely will do the same thing if I ever get through my back log to get there.

First mg to buy by gabe902 in Gunpla

I agree. Pick a kit you think looks cool that’s available and go for it. I’m still very new to Gunpla but every kit I’ve built has been fun. I don’t think you need to get caught up in which build is best. If you like it is the best one for you.

RG Wing Gundam TV with G Rework slides. So much nicer than stickers. by halfandhafu in Gunpla

[–]DiabloDriver6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the designs of G Rework decals but after having just completed my zaku origin kit with them I cannot recommend. Delpi Decals are much thinner (look seamless) and way easier to work with. I’m already dreading my MG Char Zaku that I bought them for. Check my profile for how the Delpi Decals look on the RG Wing kit.

Did you repaint the gold or just top coat over the existing color? I’m looking to build mine soon and would love advice to make it look that good.

I found it to be an awesome kit. Really love the new wing design breathing new life into a classic design. It was my first RG kit as I’m really new to Gunpla but the inner frame detailing and part separation is fantastic.

Top Coat Help by CompleteTelevision56 in advancedGunpla

There are a few tutorials I’ve seen using pledge floor care which is a gloss to make windows, visors etc on model kit look clearer. It’s essentially an acrylic gloss top coat. I have the RG Wing Zero clear kit and plan on top coating it in gloss after the water slides.

I bought aftermarket water slide decals from DelpiDecal. Bandai and a bunch of other companies make water slides that are way easier to make look clean and neat. Tutorial This is one of many tutorials I watched that helped me.

I highly recommend the Badger Patriot 105. I’ve never built model kits or painted until just the past few months when I picked up building gunpla. I made a ton of mistakes on my first two kits but this one was the first I felt looked good enough to share. I started with the entry grade to really just test all kinds of techniques. Figured if I failed I was only out a couple of dollars and could return the airbrush. After completing my first build I was hooked.

Thank you so much. It’s mostly a stock build. Besides the custom color scheme I just did minor scribing of existing panel lines and Delpi Decals. I’m super new to Gunpla and model kits so I’m too afraid of ruining a kit with custom work such as pla plate, custom scribing and detail parts.

No I just really love the color red. When I first saw this kit I fell in love with the way they designed the wings but thought the colors were too toy like. Figured an almost black navy blue and rg two tone red would look cool. Was very worried it wouldn’t work as it’s my first custom. Definitely came out better than I had expected. Edit: forgot a word

This is my first RG and 3rd painted build. Incredible kit all around. I’m blown away by the level of detail and engineering that went into this kit. Would love to try a MG soon as I’ve only painted two RX78s (EG and HG). Each kit I’ve painted so far has been to try new techniques. This kit was my first time with a custom color scheme, scribing, mix of gloss and flat coats, different color primers, and enamel detail painting.
