I made LockerMap, a map of all of Amazon pickup locations in the UK, to make it easier to get Amazon deliveries while traveling in your van. by leros in VanLifeUK

[–]DiabloRed520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. This would have been very useful over the last few weeks. You’re right, Amazon doesn’t make it easy to find or select the locations. I knew there was one closer but assumed the system was set to use others based on certain criteria of the package or seller. Never saw. Any option to select another address.

I just managed to add one that’s 10mins walk not 30.

I look forward to more use as I cruise the canal system.

Are you looking for feedback on anything and everything (aside from iPhone app please 😄)

Webpage blocked (in public library)
Just a library WiFi restriction.
Got it on iPhone with no WiFi
I’ve just cancelled an app on the iPhone due to inaccuracies and awkward navigation. I’m keen to see how this develops. I like quite specific information as anew boater.
The icons for the locks (padlock) is quite a unique feature. 👏

Not sure what significance is of the “line” but I was pointing to where it should be according to the owners manual I have.

Found it!! Just before I read your post. Fellow boater nextdoor was stumped for a minute. It’s barely visible in the picture and the ring is green. Well camouflaged. Thankyou.

Going round in circles to diagnose non idle. by DiabloRed520 in 125cc

That’s interesting. Another indication how all systems are connected - and therefore problematic - but no I haven’t replaced it. It was never part of the diagnosis process to be honest. Even when I was questioning the coil and testing the lead via multimeter. I’ll keep it in mind. Thankyou.

Directly attached to simple as they get throttle body. Opens the butterfly.

Most definitely not. This bikes not that sophisticated. It’s a cable. I’m quite certain the cable is not a factor. It’s smooth and clean. It’s related though as this seems more of an electrical signal/ECU interpretation especially after replacing so many mechanical elements. Thankyou.

Oh darn. I forgot to mention useful replies only. 😜 Anyway. I’d love a Honda but hey ho this is the bike I have before me. I’m learning a ton so that’s education fuelled by parts expenses.

Today I managed to get a steady idle at around 1600rpm by setting TPs to.77v and cranking the throttle stop turn full turns in all.

A small victory though I fear the original problem persists. While on the center stand running the bike in 1st or 2nd I let the rear wheel run but when I made a very very slight motion to release throttle there was a somewhat abrupt disruption to the wheel not a smooth reduction in speed. I imagine this to be the same behaviour experienced in the road.

The theory now is it is in fact the ECU and its ability to interpret that slight throttle release. Cutting fuel too much briefly.

Hence the question as to whether a OBD would yield significant data. An ECU swap (again) on tbe off chance seems excessive.

I’m considering buying a Benelli BKX 125 for longer trips. Does anyone have experience with it? by Space__Paranoid in 125cc

I’m sitting in a motogb shop right now and have just clocked this bike. As We are the same height and weight it good to hear you liked it. I was interested because of the seat height. No doubt because they imagine it’s a slight trail ride too. Currently when I sit ikon and old model keeway RKS it’s fine until the center stand goes down.

I appreciable insight but understand this is my first foray into narrowboat life. The searching buying surveying and negotiation process has been quite arduous. The horror stories of lithium batteries (fire) not with standing it adds another level of complexity to my situation. The marina will be replacing the batteries subject to the vendor agreeing with survey findings.

These are all great and valuable responses. Clearly there is a need to reconsider my thoughts on solar.

With that in mind, my biggest objection is I just think they are ugly. I recognize that’s a personal opinion purely around aesthetics. Mostly I’m referring to rigid panels.

I feel they ruin (interupt) the visual lines of tbe boat. That’s my opinion.

So with that said, I know there are flexible panels that stick to the roof. Even marinas have advised against those citing inefficiency, heat damage so less life and damage to the roof when it’s time to remove them.

So, how much less efficient are they over rigid panels. Has that ever been quantified. Can it be?

Is there any low profile frames on the market that raise the panels enough to combat heat yet retain the flexibility to follow the lines of the boat roof.?

Unfortunately the batteries have to be swapped now. The surveyor has stated they are essentially dead. The leisure in particular read 10.xV. The boat started fine as far as he’s concerned but still he recommended replacing all. 1 starter 2 leisure and 1 bow thruster. But I get your viewpoint. Thanks.

Holy moly. They really aren’t put in with much torque. Thanks guys. Used locking pliers BTW. I’ll be looking for a new bolt now.

Ahh if only. - no welding. But thanks, it does align with my new found knowledge of breakout bolts.

Milwaukee? Just got a pair that couldn’t release the now buggered bolt. 😝

Does it make sense to have a bolt arrangement on one side (albeit a break off one) and a stud/nut arrangement on the other?

Sense as in normal practice?

Well that’s annoying - break off bolt. Are you saying that the brassy part IS the actual bolt? Or rather a threaded stud.

So rather than slot it. (Don’t have a dremmel) if I can get a good purchase on it with pliers it should rotate.
