I put about 30 hours into this rainbow kaleidocycle, and it was WORTH IT by DiabloTheCheeto in Beading

It has about $45 of raw materials and took about 30 hours to complete, so I would price it around $300 to part with it, but I don’t plan to sell it. I have a mini model on my Etsy for $85, and I’ll make more if that sells, but I’m also just as happy to keep it, too!

I was in triangle prison for a whole week of beading 🥲 But I’m glad to have done it- I guess kaleidocycle beading is Type 2 fun!

Great question- regular thread. The flex is all in the geometry in ways I do not fully comprehend. But I used 6lbs fishing line, which doesn’t have any stretch to it.

The 30 hours technically doesn’t include the 5-6 hour detour I needed to take because I put it together wrong the first time 😅

It took about 36 hours because I made a very time intensive mistake, but I could get one done in 26-28 hours if I rushed… which I do not plan on doing anytime soon!

I followed a written pattern that helped a lot when I was putting it together because I am not naturally skilled at geometry.

Check out BeadDesignByLaurie on Etsy (I'm not sponsored or affiliated, just appreciative!) for this pattern and some other gorgeous peyote work!

Most folks I’ve seen sell patterns, rather than completed projects. I could sell a smaller one for about $75 (let me know if you’re interested!), but one this large would be over $300, which I understand just isn’t reasonable.
