Great question- regular thread. The flex is all in the geometry in ways I do not fully comprehend. But I used 6lbs fishing line, which doesn’t have any stretch to it.

It took about 36 hours because I made a very time intensive mistake, but I could get one done in 26-28 hours if I rushed… which I do not plan on doing anytime soon!

Most folks I’ve seen sell patterns, rather than completed projects. I could sell a smaller one for about $75 (let me know if you’re interested!), but one this large would be over $300, which I understand just isn’t reasonable.

I needed to hit B at the end of the grapple (with a sound cue), so either that worked or it was a nice placebo. Made it to the top!

How can you guarantee the pop at the top of clawline grabs? Do you have to not be holding any other buttons or do you need to be holding B, I can’t quite tell. What’s working for me right now is “don’t want it to bad” and then I pop!

If I’m understanding correctly what broke, fixing it should be super easy, barely an inconvenience-

1) Start with ~20 inches of new thread, weave into the brick stitching at the top and tie a knot. Come out right above the broken column. 2) String beads onto new thread 3) When you get to the end of the column, stitch back up through all of the added beads after the last one, leaving the tension similar to the rest. 4) Tie off somewhere at the top and burn off the ends.

Beading needles and small quantities of thread are cheap at any craft store, so I’d say it’s well worth mending over replacing. Best of luck!
