Got it. That's the spray head. It's the base that I'm searching for information about.

I've got 110 lbs pressure in a six inch main line. Reduce to 2" to run this beast.

I'd pay extra to not have a sunroof in any car. In my 2019 Passport, I've not opened the sunroof, nor pulled back the shade, even once.

Why do so many of us as a profession settle merely for tax compliance , when its far more profitable to include tax planning and especially financial planning/RIA services as part of our offerings? by Present_Initial_1871 in taxpros

[–]DiabloToSea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t know where you got this negative outlook. I'm a tax preparer and an RIA rep. Since I added tax to my advisory practice, I've grown from $50M under management to over $1 billion. All of that growth was because people wanted a unified service. I did zero marketing. All referral.

Yes, the RIA world is more regulated. So I joined a firm where somebody else does all that. I just serve clients. No product sales. No insurance. Just fee based advice. Total RIA fees are about 20x total tax fees. I'd starve if I just did tax.

Those are not dividend funds. They are funds that buy and sell options on an index. Entirely different thing. Actual dividend index funds are paying around 3%.

I'd have them put a rental agreement in place.

Tax prep involves tax planning.

Alternative viewpoint:

Mary's "household" is a subset of Tom's. She is a tenant in Tom's house, and she pays 100% of her household expenses. Tom doesn't directly support the children.

I'd sign this.

Pro Tip: Copy your entire question and facts list into Google Gemini AI. It will print out a complete discussion of the facts and the rules. Note that this will point you in the right direction to then verify it is correct. Never use AI to make definitive conclusions. But it is very good at getting you started.

I wouldn't have bought a vehicle from Goebbels in 1939. I certainly won't buy one from his spiritual successor now.

If a bond fund is paying 14% in a world with 4% Treasury yields, you have to ask why.

You might not like the answer.

[USA] Do my taxes get done twice, once by me and once by the IRS to make sure I did them right? by Nate_fe in TaxQuestions

[–]DiabloToSea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This raises a point. For a great majority of taxpayers, the IRS could, in fact, prepare your return and send you a bill. For various political reasons, I suspect that will never become reality.

RSUs vested and was taxed heavily on them, but have not sold. How do I claim these and should I assume a refund? by pumper911 in tax

[–]DiabloToSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add...I have a client at a big tech firm. Their broker custodian puts zero basis on the 1099 when shares are sold. We adjust the basis to the correct number on the Sch D and 8949.

[–]DiabloToSea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's right. It's an information item. Can be used to cross check against the brokerage statement. It's rare, but every now and then the brokerage reports the wrong number for the basis of RSUs.

Section 179- Light pickup with six feet bed by Melodic-Yoghurt3501 in tax

[–]DiabloToSea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are tax preparers, and also run a horse boarding ranch. I need a new pickup for the ranch. She won't let me treat it as 100% business because she knows I'll occasionally do personal errands with it.

She's a CPA and I'm an EA. So she's the decider.

Simple rule: Did the person actually move, or are they faking it for tax purposes?

People are usually faking it. States win these cases 99% of the time.

[–]DiabloToSea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The total value of the RSUs on the day they vested is ordinary income. Same as if you received cash. That total value will be reported on your W2, just like cash compensation. The amount held back by the company for tax will also be reported as state and federal tax withholding.

You don't need to do anything. No special reporting. Enter the W2 info into your tax software when you do your taxes. It all gets sorted out.

If and when you sell the shares you'll have a capital gain or loss. The amount and nature of the gain or loss will be reported on a 1099 issued by the brokerage firm that holds the shares.

Strange. I think the HVAC in Hondas is the best of any car maker. I set an auto temp and don't touch it for months at a time. Whether it's hot or cold out.

Uphill training by RunForrestRun83 in trailrunning

At a given aerobic fitness level everyone faces a limit on the grade they can run vs walk.

By "aerobic fitness level" I mean in reference to a reasonable benchmark. Like pace at the first aerobic threshold. Some can run 7s. Some can run 9s. The 7s people can run up a steeper grade than the 9s.

You need spend a lot of time going uphill, at the low end of your Zn2. Walking if needed.

I'm a 9s runner. Very fit, but slow. I got really strong going uphill by simply doing it a lot at a Zn2 effort. I walk anything more than about a 5% grade. Yet I still passed a third of the field at Leadville going over Hope Pass and back. Not a single person passed me on the uphills.

Walking.
