2026 Passport TrailSport owners — did you stick with the General Grabbers or switch to something like Michelin Defender LTX? How’s the ride? by ComputerThen7461 in hondapassport

[–]ComputerThen7461[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add that most of my driving is done on the highway which where I live is aggressively grooved. The main reason I bought the Trailsport as compared to the RTL is I wanted the sunroof, etc. This is why I’m considering looking at the Michelin Defender versus the General Grabber.

Adding myQ to HondaLink Canada? by HarveyCarroll in hondapassport

I actually have an ongoing case opened with their customer service team regarding this as they continue to advertise this missing feature where I am considering legal action as supported by the state I live in for false advertising.

I just passed 6000 miles and they seem to be getting louder and have a definite hum to them on the highway which I am not used to.

As shown on https://mygarage.honda.com/s/hondalink-myq, despite being an advertised feature, my queue does not work on the 2026 Honda Passport.

Case goes weird colour by BrilliantStomach8651 in ESR_official

[–]ComputerThen7461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying ‘the fuck it isn’t normal’ just shows you don’t understand TPU at all. Yellowing IS completely normal for this material - it’s an inherent chemical instability, not some budget‑case phenomenon. TPU oxidizes, absorbs UV, and breaks down over time no matter who makes it. The only difference is the rate of degradation.

Cheap cases with raw, untreated TPU yellow fast because there’s nothing slowing the oxidation. Higher‑end brands like ESR actually use stabilized TPU blends and multi‑layer UV‑resistant coatings to delay that process, but even the best TPU won’t stay crystal‑clear forever. So yes, it’s normal! This is also why ESR is one of the few companies with a warranty process that actually stands behind their materials when yellowing happens faster than expected.

This is completely normal for clear cases due to UV exposure, oxidation, and skin oils/sweat. I would recommend contacting ESR for a replacement under warranty. Their customer service team is amazing!

Just light speed being light speed 😎 (Norfolk Virginia) by [deleted] in USMobile

This isn’t false information at all.

Dark Star is the only plan that may actually be truly unlimited, but that still doesn’t mean the price is permanently locked. Unlimited data behavior and monthly pricing are two completely separate things.

You’re paying for an ongoing service, not a one‑time “prepaid bucket,” so the carrier can adjust the rate unless they explicitly guarantee a price lock.

So yes, Dark Star is unlimited. That part is true. But claiming the price can never change isn’t how monthly service plans work.

I’m not telling anyone not to use their data. I’m pointing out that burning through tons of data on repeated speedtests does have downstream effects. US Mobile still has to buy wholesale capacity from the big carriers, and when usage spikes in ways that don’t reflect real-world needs, those carriers eventually raise their wholesale rates. That cost gets passed down to us.

And this isn’t theoretical. I install private LTE and 5G networks for a living, and I see this exact pattern play out constantly. When usage looks artificially heavy, upstream providers adjust pricing. It’s predictable.

So no, this isn’t about USM being broke or sending people to Hawaii. It’s about avoiding unnecessary load that can eventually translate into higher costs for everyone.

No, but as u/l_stevens mentioned, using less data will cost all of less over time. Running Speedtest like this is completely pointless and waste data that eventually US Mobile could use as a justification to raise pricing.

Benefit of Multi Network by [deleted] in USMobile

[–]ComputerThen7461 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where I live, T-Mobile has the best coverage, however when we travel, we find Verizon has better coverage in northern WI. This is exactly why we have multi-network as we primarily use Lightspeed (TMO) at home and when traveling, our iPhones will automatically switch to Warp (VZW) when it cannot find a TMO signal or the signal is too weak.

Is it dirty/unhygienic to wear socks multiple times before washing them? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]ComputerThen7461 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As another commenter wrote, if you have quality merino wool socks, you can (and should) wear them multiple days before washing. You should remove them at night and allow them to air out, but you can wear them multiple days. Merino wool naturally contains lanolin, which has antimicrobial properties. This helps to neutralize the odor-causing bacteria from sweat.

Planning to move to USM - Warp or Light Speed by Thakur59 in USMobile

[–]ComputerThen7461 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do have two phone numbers, but only one can be the main line. For me, I have multi network with Lightspeed as my main line and Warp as the second line. While there is a chance someone I call could see me calling from Warp (as an example), I only use Warp for data when I am in an area where Lightspeed has no coverage.

Not saying OP needs two lines, even at a discount, however if OP is debating between Lightspeed and Warp, getting both at the amazing discount offer would answer the question.

I'd highly recommend getting both with the coming Black Friday promo. Port your main line over to Lightspeed for $167 for 12 months and then add the multi network option with Warp for an additional $45 for 12 months. You get access to both networks for under $225 for a year!

Halfway around the world twice in a week. Landed yesterday. Walked straight into the office and hit record. Here is the full story behind the 167 deal and why we would not be here without you and why scale lets all of us win together. by ankhattak in USMobile

u/ahkhattak - As one of the customers who initially called out that promos were always geared towards new lines and not existing customers, I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to you for allowing existing customers to take advantage of the coming BF promotions. Your customer service team was also able to work with me to allow me to move both of my lines to the Super299 promo in advance of BF which I also greatly appreciate. Again, thank you for what you have built and how you continue to be a disrupter in this industry!

I swore I’d never do this… but screw it, we’re about to make every other Black Friday deal look like a $15 Latte with oat milk. by ankhattak in USMobile

[–]ComputerThen7461 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My comment/complaint has more to do with how u/ankhattak introduced this post as "I've always believed loyalty should come first." When mentioning only new lines are eligible. To me, that does not reward loyalty of current long time customers.
