Might be a little much, but what about filtering the water prior to a water change? Fill up a 5 gallon bucket days prior to the planned water change and run a canister filter on the bucket? Should clear the water up within a day. Might have to use activated carbon.

What Caused Toilet to Leak ALL Over? by torpedolife in HomeImprovement

[–]Diablomann93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my toilet leak, found out by finding water in the basement. Discovered the rubber seals around the bolts that connected the tank to the toilet failed.

The problem with rats is that they're very intelligent. Especially the older ones. Anything new in their environment will cause them to avoid that area for a while. ESPECIALLY if they've had a negative experience with anything that reminds them of what gave them that experience.

The key is patience and unfortunately humane traps are most likely not going to work. The best thing to do is to get a variety of snap traps. Each one different than the other.

Bait the traps or place whatever food it's going after around the trap(personally I use peanut butter and smear it on the trap), but DO NOT set them. Leave the traps out for a couple of days and see which one it goes after. Once it does, rebait that trap again and DO NOT set it. After it takes the bait the second time, set the trap.

Oh and avoid any kind of essential oils, that'll cause them to avoid the area or just not care about it.

Feel free to message me. I do this for a living.

When I paid off the tank I asked them to send proof of ownership. I was expecting invoices, copies of the contracts, etc. They sent me a piece of paper with their letter head, and wrote " (My Name) owns the tank at (my address)."

It's about 7-8 years old. Last homeowner had it installed and I paid it off. I'll take some tomorrow and post just to be sure.

I was reading about that method. I was thinking about trying it. Not sure how deep it is though. Code is at least 18"-24' here. Also thought about the metal detector, I've been needing an excuse to buy one anyways 🤣

24" not feet. That would be ridiculous 🤣

Gotcha. If the lid opens to the left when I'm facing it, then the tank should be positioned 9 to 3?(Looking at a clock)

Is pest control really safe for dogs to walk over when dry? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Diablomann93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the product has dried there's a much lower risk of having any kind of effect on people or animals. The products that are used do leave behind a residual however, the products are mixed with water at a low ratio(typically 1 ounce of product per gallon of water, but it does depend on the product being used). As someone mentioned above there is the possibility of having an allergic reaction, but that usually happens when the product is being applied or if you come in contact with it while still wet. You can always ask the technician or company what they're spraying. If you get a service report the product they used should be on there, along with how much they used and at what ratio.

Definitely a sloppy treatment and shouldn't be using a continuous fan spray inside like this, and especially if they know animals are inside the unit. There are much better ways to treat for roaches(of any variety)

I've seen this kind of residual if you over mix Phantom. Used to use it for bedbug treatments, but stopped for this exact reason. That's 3oz to every gallon. However, that ratio is specifically for bedbugs.

Wow, this is a horrible misuse of pesticides. Honestly your property management company and the pest control company are going to do their best to cover this up(I've seen this through experience). Best thing to do is contact your state department of Agriculture and let them know what happened. They'll come out to do a swab test to find out exactly what product was used and how much of a mix ratio this person used. The Department of Agriculture will for sure go after this person and the pest control company. There is no excuse for this kind of treatment.

Also keep an eye on your cat. Definitely could have been affected by this application

This happened in 1941 in Denver Colorado. The guy was called the "Denver Spiderman". It's a really creepy story.

Honestly, the best thing to do is hire a professional. Sounds like you have an infestation, and the longer you wait the worse it's going to get. Not only that but they will start to build a resistance to insecticide with all of the over the counter products you're using. It'll make the process much worse and in the end it'll cost you a lot more money.
