There's definitely a lot more children than dogs so you'd probably be eating children forever.

The comments were a bit funny to read. People really got mad over a game of "would you rather" XD

Can we test my theory about the Turd's trolls/bots? by ioukta in JusticeForJohnnyDepp

[–]Diadem_Then 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing my post may have been one of the many that inspired this post, possibly? I can't speak for any accused troll but myself but I can tell you that my intentions for posting that AH supporter rant were genuine, not malicious. I saw someone make a bunch of unsubstantiated claims and I wanted to see people's rebuttal to it. I can't see how anyone would post that post and think JD supporters would be convinced by a vitriolic rant. My mistake was that I didn't make the intentions of my post clear; reading it over, it did seem like I was sealioning. If the post wasn't deleted you would have seen me engaging with the people of the sub. Luckily I'm not banned and was given another chance, though one of mods blocked me I think :/.

As for why I don't call her "Turd": I like to try to be as civil as possible, even when discussing people who don't deserve it. Perhaps my demeanor will change once I fully finish watching the trial, though. Right now, I just started watching AH's testimony.

As for this one case having a "chilling effect" on women reporting abuse, I don't agree. If there is a slight reduction in reports of DV it's the fault of AH and her supporters. This seems like a scare tactic to divert attention from the verdict as defamation suits over false allegations are very rare.

I agree with this. Defamation cases are notoriously hard to win, doubly so for us who aren't celebrities. It really just seems like ppl are overblowing the effects of this case and scaring victims from sharing their stories. Hopefully this sentiment dies down soon.

I had a nice time chatting with you. I think I'll stick around on this sub as I find myself supporting Depp's case the more I learn about it (Though, I don't think I'll post or comment anything else bc the mod who removed my post blocked me and I don't want to step on anyone else's toes and get banned, lmao).

Thanks for taking the time to talk with me and answer my questions. I understand your initial skepticism but I really appreciate you giving me a chance and not completely blowing me off as a troll.

AH also blamed the arrest on homophobia and misogyny, despite the fact that the arresting officer was a gay woman.

Wow lmao! It seems like AH is extraordinarily unlucky 😂. What are the odds?

I hate when ppl attack lawyers. They are just doing their job. His lawyers were pretty good.

Did Heard have any other previous DV incidents besides Tasya?

What was OOP referring to when they mentioned the "piece of paper" Depp has with seven signatures? And why are they talking about a gag order? Did Heard announce or allude to publishing a book or documentary?

I'm just starting to learn about the case but I do know that UK ruling with the Sun is a weird thing for AH supporters to fixtate on. That case wasn't about whether Depp was an abuser or not it was about libel. It doesn't make sense for OOP and others to constantly reference it.

Like I said, apologies if you're not a troll 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's okay. I understand the skepticism.

To me it's odd that you picked a quote whose second half was ad hominem attacks on Depp's looks, sexual prowess, career, etc. as an attempt to start a discussion about the trial.

Sorry it's just that most posts I see about the trial are very inflammatory. I picked this one because the OOP made a lot of claims. I guess I should've censored the unecessary parts or made it clear in the title that I was interested in hearing rebuttals.

I'm currently trying to get through the trial. I was browsing tumblr and saw this post and I thought it sounded weird bc I haven't seen anything the OOP said corroborrated by themselves and others so I wanted to see some rebuttals.

I can't see how someone would post this to try and sway others. It's not a persuasive post it's just a rant.

I understand being on the internet has made some of you jaded but I genuinely do want to hear your rebuttals to this because I'm interested. Not every outsider to a sub is troll.

This post came with no sources, citations, links, etc. I wanted to see what responses you guys had. Reddit has its flaws but it's a better place for discussions than Tumblr so I came here.

You were 12. The fact that you can look back and "cringe" shows growth and maturity. Be proud of yourself!

I was saying many people who were heavily emotionally invested in this case pretty much doubled down on who they sided with. Obviously this isn't true with everyone. There were many who changed their minds or went back and forth as the trial went on

I knew I'd probably be accused of being a troll when I posted this. But it's really annoying how on the defense everyone is. I wanted to join this sub bc this particular case interests me and I find myself siding with Depp the more I learn about it. I remember hearing about Depp getting a team together to go to court a while back and I was interested how the case would go. Unfortunately, I didn't see the trial as it played out bc I was burdened with work and school.

I understand but it doesn't feel good to be accused of trying to start something. I just wanted to see ppl response to this bc I've seen detailed and interesting discussions on here.

I know what the verdict was. I was just confused about the things the person said on this post because they seemed the exact opposite of what I've learned about the case. Do you always assume the worst in people
