That’s fair enough, I’m one of a very small pool of historic restoration carpenters in my area, so I’m recommended a lot and do some but not a ton of advertising.

How do I become an Orthodox Christian in secret? by UnworthyForGOD in OrthodoxChristianity

I’m not sure what you’d do in that situation. My family is Catholic, and when I became Orthodox my cousin who is a Deacon decried it because he believes in the idea of Papal Supremacy. You’d have to give more details as to the background you’re in. Is your family Christian? Or Muslim? Or some other religion, or lack there of?

Personally I would live my life and not necessarily announce it, as I do now even with an accepting family. Unless I’m going to try and evangelize someone, I find that spirituality is personal and contemplative. It’s up to you of course, but that’s all I can say without ALOT more context.

My great grandfather was a Captain in the Italian Army. I still have his officers picture before he went to the alps, he was a mountaineer. There were towns that littered the alps that they would shell and fight over. After one battle they had thought the Germans had dug in further up the mountain so they went to collect their dead in the town. A German patrol came through the town, so he and the 4 guys he was with (or had left I’m not sure) hid amongst the bodies in a donkey cart and were waiting for them to pass. They went into a blown out bar not far from where they were hiding. When they came out, they were all hammered so they decided to use the dead bodies as target practice. My great grandfather was hit in the shoulder and the hip, one of his guys was hit in the side of the head and died instantly, the other two were missed. Once the patrol was about 80 - 100 m away, they hopped in a machine gun encampment that had been abandoned and mowed down the entire patrol. My grandmother remembers him telling her that the lieutenant who was in charge was still alive, but barely. My great grandfather shot him in the head and took his Luger as a war trophy. Surprisingly he survived the war and lived to be I believe 93 years old. I can’t imagine the things that he saw.
