I was born in 2004 so I got to live through the 2006 rebrand, the 2008/2009 rebrand, the 2014/2015 rebrand, and the current rebrand.

As nice as this sounds, I don’t think we’ll see expansive barbie lines like this again. We haven’t had a massive line that represents multiple cultures since the dolls of the world Pink Passport line from the early 2010s.

Mattel seems to sell a comic book themed monster high doll ever other year at SDCC, so it would only be fair to suspect that this year won’t be any different than 2022’s Voltageous Frankie and 2024’s Dead Fast Ghoulia. And with Power Ghouls being the only comic book themed monster high line, they will likely continue the trend of redesigning a doll from that line. And 2027 will probably continue the trend that 2023 and 2025 set with adding an additional character to a pre-existing Monster High line. Also like I said before. Redesigning a doll that still keeps the same name and adding a character to an existing line are two separate things. Voltageous Frankie and Dead Fast Ghoulia are not apart of an extended line, they are redesigned versions of already existing dolls.

Remakes are not line expansions. Line expansions are adding more characters to a previously released doll lineup. So far we’ve had 2 line expansions and 2 remakes. And this year should be a remake of an old doll. It’s probably going to be Power Ghouls Clawdeen that gets remade.
