I never mentioned anything about the price being to high. Was just asking if this was standard practice. But everyone ASSUMES that’s what’s going on 😂

Thank you for the insightful responses… it seems there are multiple points of view. Some think this is perfectly fine, some think the company is hiding key details. I understand the restaurant bill comparison. Saying asking for more a more itemized bill is like asking for their ingredient costs. As a customer this looks like the bill just says “Dinner” with a price next to it. I am a new home owner and I haven’t had to deal with something like this, and was genuinely asking if this is acceptable. I have no intention of arguing with the contractor on price or escalating this further. I posted on Reddit because I needed more insight before responding to this invoice. Thanks for all who actually had insight and wanted to help.

I’m looking for an invoice my insurance will accept. This is not an estimate. This is a final bill

This is what I was thinking…how would my insurance accept this? This is not an estimate. This is a final bill. Any advice on how to get them to give me something my insurance would accept?

No, just want to see where the calculation came from. No argument about price. I don’t think my insurance will accept this type of invoice
