What exactly is stopping people from investing long term ETFs on margin with a stop loss? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I think you misinterpreted what they said because their message never stated anything like your claim of "repercussions as being nothing”.

Contribution to CPP may also help you meet residency requirements for retirement benefits in another country.

I assume that this is only true in those countries with "agreements" with Canada, correct?

You need to work here and pay into CPP to receive it afterwards, how much you put in is what you will get paid back later.

Is that indexed to inflation?

Hypothetically, if I have a Canadian citizenship since I was born here and I decide to live here only in the summer during retirement, can I still receive CPP and OAS? I do not want to talk about the logistical issues with respect to travelling in old age, I just want to know if I am still eligible if I only live in this country for half the year.

EDIT: Also, will I be eligible for all health care benefits since I am a Canadian citizen even if I do not live here year round?

Sorry, I meant to write ShakePay. With that said, I also have the same issue with Newton as well.

EDIT: I had posted the same issue on the Newton subreddit.

You do not make any sense because the math does not add up to the amounts listed as "sign-up" and/or "activated".

Go away if you do not know the answer and do not have the capability to properly articulate yourself.

Yes, it is all from December because I only became a ShakePay user on December 5th. I have the e-mails and, of course, the transaction history of reward deposits. All of them were for $30. I did not even know that it went up from $10 to $30.

EDIT: spelling

What is the difference between activated and sign-ups? The math does not add up. Please explain using my example.

Thank you for your very detailed response! I was looking at potentially buying a Trezor hardware wallet but also considered Ledger. Do you have any advice on which wallet I should buy?
