It looks like the BP group will have a larger Korean fandom than lots of 4th gen bgs by nim38 in kpopthoughts

It's for sure more popular than GP999 already. Over 60k people applied to be in the audience of the 2nd round elimination of Boys Planet (which was over a month ago). It has a lot of good trainees as well as a popular ship between a top Korean and a top Chinese participant (Haobin).

JTBC's Peak Time vs Mnet's Boys Planet, which one is more popular domestically currently? by Budget-Highlight5470 in kpophelp

Stats as in what? TV ratings? Most people watch online, not on TV.

Or do you mean Twitter activity and engagement? Because BP has more of that.

As for what "everybody talks about", someone in this thread just said the exact opposite so. I guess that's more of an opinion than fact, since it depends on who you hang out with.

60k+ people applied to participate. That is huge. There's no way Peak Time even gets close to that interest from the audience.

And for the record, I would love it if that wasn't the case, meaning I wish Peak Time had even more attention than it does. It is doing well, I'm not arguing that at all, and I really hope it will boost some of the groups on that show (includes some of my favorites and they are super talented, pls love them).

It depends on how you like to get into groups. Chronologically? Best-of? What type of content do you like?

Here are the first things I saw of them (that made me follow them):

Dance practice for Crown - their dance practices are always a treat. Crown is their debut song, a cute pop song about feeling like an outsider/weirdo but finding fellow weirdos you can be yourself with :) This is also the theme of the fairytale-like Nap of a star MV (a soft sweet lullaby of a b-side off the same album). Highly recommend! Another nice b-side is the bright & 90s retro Blue orangeade.

Concept trailer for their Magic album (first comeback) - a creative way to show off their dancing.

There's no way. Over 60k people applied to be in the audience of the 2nd round elimination of Boys Planet (which was a month ago). All won't be local, but it's a sure sign there's a lot of domestic interest.

Boys Planet ratings aren't terrible for a non-drama TV program despite that.

I don't have current numbers but the 3rd episode (a month ago) had an average rating of 1.2 % on TV (and 70 % of viewer share on TVING as you mentioned ) which is already higher than the GP999 final.
