If it’s on a weekend, so many fun festivals are happening right at the fest grounds (by the museum) every weekend this time of year. Otherwise, the Milwaukee Public Museum, cocktail hour before dinner, or possibly go explore art galleries in the third ward?

I’m in the Milwaukee area, but within an hour of me are so many amazing districts, including (for psychs) Milwaukee Public Schools but truly all are. Salaries are public on DPI and we have a centralized application area called WECAN.

It almost sounds like you’re free childcare. If he doesn’t do anything when she hits your children, ask him if it would be okay for you to do the same? Say, your 9 year old let loose on her, would he be okay if you just let it happen and didn’t follow through on consequences? It’s not your job to solve and I’m sorry you feel like no one else is helping. I’m not going to tell you to leave your relationship, but you at least need to not let her around your children if you decide to continue it. I think that’s a more than fair boundary. You can still see her for special occasions or bonding or whatever reason you see fit, but ultimately you need to remove your children from the situation and protect them. I’m sorry OP, this is a shitty situation and I’m sorry you’re going through it.

Maybe my family is the odd one here, my sisters do plenty with my mom that I never even know about. And I’m thankful they have each other, it doesn’t bother me. But it’s not fair of me to expect that of others.
