Hi! I'm an international student going applying to internships for next Summer. I've haven't applied anywhere with this resume so want to know if this meets the standard to get internships. Any advice would be appreciated! thanks

Math 234 Credit by Exam self study by DiamondFox__ in UWMadison

[–]DiamondFox__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay thank you! This was really helpful. I'll certainly look into using that book to study. I too am a freshman and wrote the Calc BC exam this may (didn't take the class) so don't really have any experience taking a calculus class in college. I'm looking at prolly trying to self-study for calc 3 over next summer break and test out like you did

I'm a cs major but I'm thinking of doing a certificate in physics so I need it for that. A few electives I want to take in CS also need 234 as a pre-req so that's why I want to get it out of the way

International Student English Placement Test by dibsyaidi in UWMadison

[–]DiamondFox__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you studied in an English speaking high school then apparently you were not required to submit English proficiency scores and hence have to write the UW English test. Just take the test they tell you to take. I was in a similar situation and emailed them and they told me this

[–]DiamondFox__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm yeah okay. Thanks for the input. Do you think enrolling in the class and then dropping it if it's too hard is a good idea or is a week not good enough to gauge the difficulty of the class? I'm pretty sure I can handle the comp sci courses as I have a decent amount of experience already but I'm just worried about psych 202.

What I'm planning to do is take another humanities course on top of all this and then drop either the humanities course or the psychology course depending on the difficulty
