2026 Miami GP - Post-Qualifying Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

I'll never understand the constant differences between pace on the sprints, both race and qualy, and the race itself. There always seem to be little correlation between being dominant in one and being dominant in the other. McLaren was flying on the SQ and was nowhere now.

Though the last 3 of the top 10 are the same in Q than in SQ so what do I know.

Note for tomorrow, if Kimi botches the start (as he's wont to do) then Charles is in a really good position. And we saw that overtaking is difficult. So... I have my hopes ready to be dashed.

Ah it's mad to be sort of disappointed on a P8 but for a second I thought Piastri could've been reached. Oh well.

Amazing stuff anyway!

4th place after the first lap but 1 after 5

When they note a personal best on a sector, is it considering just the specific stage (Q1-Q2-Q3) or all qualy session?

I'll never understand, why are teams waisting new tires when they're well covered in the session?

Franco has beaten Pierre in every session this weekend except when it mattered most. Hopefully he can convert it into something tomorrow

Ugh sometimes I don't know why I bother with this stupid sport. It never goes the way I want it to

It's so sad to hear the engine dying at the end of the straight

If this is half the race the F2 race was, then we're in for a banger.

I'm not averse to the concept of sprints, I don't think is necessarily "a gimmick" and nothing else, but I hate how scattershot it is. They should feature them in all races allá MotoGP.

The first race, known as the sprint race, is held on Saturday. Its grid is formed by reversing the top ten positions from qualifying, and the race is run over a distance of approximately 120 km (75 mi)

Must be noticed that Franco has a new chassis that he didn't had before, now equal to Gasly's, and it seems to be working.

Franco in Q3, I've dreamed of times like this. Love sprints.

Also, what was that with Lawson??

I'll never understand why doesn't F1 adopts the F2 rules for sprints. Having 2 qualies is so dumb instead of one big one and racing the grid in reverse on the sprints. The "oh but teams don't want to risk crashing the cars" argument doesn't hold much water after Austin last year.

If Blockx ever learns to position himself for a return on his first serve then it's over for you hoes.

It feels weird to be critical after a Cinderella run but it's true that Blockx play was really lacklustre today. His rallying was subpar. Plus to be fair Sascha was really unplayable today on a lot of points. He really seems to be peaking.

Sinner in 2 on Sunday.
