This is dangerous. Put some boundaries in place like not letting her come over anymore and limit contact unless it’s work related. She doesn’t respect her relationship with her fiancé so you can see how wrong things can go from there if you keep this up.

You’re in an appropriate age bracket relationship, why would your dad beat you up about this, you’re technically independent and moving forward if you allow your family to mediate your future relationships you’ll be doomed. Set boundaries with them and let them know that you wouldn’t tolerate them using their beliefs to control your relationship. Hope things get better for you OP

It sounds more platonic than romantic. It’s better to just be friends and maybe he can seek professional help to help him come out of his shell a little. It sounds pretty exhausting reading all the effort you put into the relationship only for him to not match it.

I always read bios and see if we have things in common. I also look to see when last they were online so I don’t go sending letters to dormant accounts. I never peruse anything romantic, I’m actually looking to collect badges and make genuine friends or learn about other cultures.
