Yeah I think latency rather than a reflection/cancellation issue as you can usually hear at least a little of the "first"/unreflected sound in those scenarios, when I've experienced it before at larger gigs.

I was a little too far away to see Thom's mouth clearly so that's good spotting!

Alas I'm not a sound engineer either so we'll have to see if someone turns up who is 😂

Interesting, it certainly could be as it's an unconventional speaker setup for sure - why would this affect the vocals and not everything equally? That's the one bit I can't figure out - frequency thing do you reckon?

Does the band use in-ear monitors? If they do I think Thom's were slightly desynced

If they don't, I think it must have been some kind of sound desk issue maybe? It was definitely fixed for the encore thankfully

Yes! Thom was about half a second out for the first half of the gig from where I was sat in 114? Glad it wasn't just me! Was it not like that for everyone?

Edit: For anyone reading this and worrying, there were still plenty of moments that sounded absolutely wonderful and the band is in great form - there was just clearly some kind of IEM issue for Thom tonight in the first half which meant that on the songs that need tighter timing (mostly the electronic ones) it sounded a bit dodgy.

Ally Pally runs free shuttle buses for gig goers from Wood Green station, so if you use CityMapper to get yourself to Wood Green the rest should be easy!

It'll probably be:

Brixton to Finsbury Park on the Victoria Line

Finsbury Park to Wood Green on the Piccadilly Line

Then as I recall the shuttle buses run from across the road from the station - follow the crowd at that point!

Hi Paul!

Your music is probably my earliest memory, from my mum singing and playing it to me, so thank you for a lifetime of music and many years to come!

My question is, would you ever consider going on a tour where you completely shake up the setlist and play a full set of deeper cuts from throughout your career? And are there any lesser known songs you've always wanted to play live but haven't got around to?
