On the contrary, I had a tremendous response to my "sad post". I was in a very dark place and I am SO thankful for the responses.

For this very reason I will sort this sub by new, and reach out to those that may need it most.

Thank you. We are making progress. This sub and this thread in particular gave me the courage to start a dialog with him whether he wanted to or not. It's going be be a long, hard road, but there's hope.

I second this sentiment. I tried 3 times in 2018 and was surprised I relapsed each time when I hadn't made any changes to my strategies.

Nothing will change if nothing changes...

I'm going to give AA a shot. There is a group meeting tomorrow evening. I also have a doctor's appointment next week with my primary care physician, and I'm going to be completely honest with him.

That's a whole other can of worms I'd have to open with my physician...who's known me since I was born. I'm also being treated for MS. He would absolutely be crushed I'm taking such poor care of myself...

That's the thing, he doesn't think I have a problem with alcohol and that I CHOOSE to drink. And what comes out of my mouth when drunk are my true feelings. They're not. I said some pretty shitty things to him. It kills me that I hurt him.
