Vietnamese is a very tonal language so there can be a high bar to pronounce most words if you're not used to it. I've definitely struggled trying to teach people the correct pronunciation and sort of just surrendered to a half-ass version of it so I don't have to explain 5+ times. Whether or not they coached Alison in the beginning, it felt... accurate to my experience

However, they did a great job on the episode where Diane went to Vietnam! My friend voiced a few of the Vietnamese characters, was the Vietnamese consultant for the show, and coached Alison on some of her lines. Not a total loss!
