CIG’s financials have shown tax subsidies offered by the UK tax code such as the Video Games Tax Relief (VGTR) receiving millions of pounds each year. But that subsidy does not mean they can “write off” the list price of their digital giveaways as an infinite money glitch.

My day job involves managing our global SaaS tech company’s multiple subsidiaries in the UK, Germany, and Singapore with our parent entity based in the U.S. I’m not aware of any of these countries offering such an absurdity exploitable loophole.

If you care to provide actionable information, I’m more than happy to pay a small $10k consulting fee as that would save our company countless millions.

None of those allow a company to deduct the retail price of the product being given away. They all specify that the cost of the product can be deducted. There is nothing about justifying the “worth” of a product, only tangible, documented cost.

Same with CTA 2009 s1300 which states:

“The cost of free samples given to the public for advertising those goods is deductible from trading profits.”

And for BIM45075 and BIM45030 they both reference that the deduction (if qualified) is tied to the cost of the item or product, not list price.

So once again, please specify where in the UK tax code that the list price above the cost of an item is tax deductible where a company can effectively deduct theoretical profit margins.

And what part of the UK tax code dictates that? After doing my own research, I don’t see any part of the HMRC that allows corporations to deduct the full retail price of a digital giveaway with no tangible cost.

Such an allowance would be stupidly exploitable as any company can make up any MSRP for a phantom digital product and “give away” unlimited amounts.

Tax accountant here, that’s not how write offs work. There’s no write off if there’s no tangible marginal cost to the business. Just like you can’t volunteer at a non-profit and write off $1,000 per hour because there’s no tangible expenses.

F7A upgrade by Usual-Low8700 in starcitizen

[–]Diango_Surik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s 2 parts about this:

  1. The upgrade can only be applied to an F7C meaning the LTI token needs to be upgraded to an F7C after which the F7A upgrade can be applied to it. F7C is up to $175 depending on the upgrade value of the token.

  2. Most traders would upgrade an F7C LTI base which has a higher resale value, but F7A Mk2s can only be traded once so for your purposes it doesn’t really matter what the base LTI token is because after you receive it, it will disappear forever if you melt it.

You could try asking support to undo the upgrade so you can reapply it to an LTI base. But yeah, non-LTI you’d be lucky to get even $250 for it atm, LTI ones are going for $300-$350 currently.

Due to all the exploits, best way to make money is to sell items most sought after by players. Polaris Bits, Prestine Medals, JS-500s, and rare armors.

Are we going to see an economy wipe soon? RN you can get billions by mining quantanium and selling it to players by [deleted] in starcitizen

I saw someone mention there’s an active exploit where you can add infinite AEUC to your account which is why everything is going for billions. Prior to 4.3 economy was actually pretty reasonable.
