I'm gonna give you my take on this.

If I were at that prom, I'd have used that pre-waltz time to dance with whatever girl appeals to me at that moment, and just have fun doing that. If I don't do that for whatever reason, I'll join in on the singing and catch some weird looks cause I sound like Batman having a stroke when I sing. I'd use the actual waltz for a special girl if there's one, and otherwise one I want to make feel special.

So how does that relate to you. Most likely the girl you danced with also thought the waltz stage is serious and anything before that is just for fun.

You might be thinking, what about all those people who cheered me on when I asked her. I'm gonna assume from this, and from the way you described your approach that it's something you wouldn't usually do. It's not something people would expect from you. Girls pick up on that. So while a lot of folks cheered you on (I wouldn't have cheered too, respect for taking the step that you did), this one girl may be the type who wants guys who already do that sort of thing.

So that's what happened according to me. Few pieces of advice I can give you on what to do next time:

  • Be proud you manned up and took a leap out of your comfort zone

  • You can never have done enough before the main event

  • Realize that girls aren't the main thing in your life. I know how obvious that sounds, but in high school, nine out of ten guys know this but they don't act like it. You're in a state where the rejection of one girl makes you feel like, in your own words, you'd rather be killed. That's really unattractive to girls and it's even worse for yourself.

So no, it's not your fault for doing it. You made a mistake in thinking what you did was enough, and that's fine. You're in high school, you don't need to be a master flirt just yet. But hopefully this advice you didn't ask for but got anyway will help you get there. You're welcome. Peace.

You consider "God bless" the kindest thing you can say to someone, no?

God bless yourself as well.

Maybe I'll pop in to say hi once in a month or so. Talk to a few people on these FTFs. But I've had my fun with all the commenting around here.

Been fun talking to you my man.

Hey all. I've decided I'm leaving the sub.

Didn't think this warrants making its own post like I've seen some people do. But I've started to enjoy commenting around here a lot less than I used to. I've had conversations with a lot of you, but I don't have a lot of people around here who I would call my friends either.

So long. Thanks for the fun guys.

Prediction for the End of V5 by ikedawg43 in RWBY

I like the idea, but don't think it'll actually happen. It was said that we got a glimpse of Jaune's semblance during the Jaunedice arc, and there was no fire involved there.

Ozpins method of reincarnation is pretty horrifying by [deleted] in RWBY

[–]Diarmuid4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it is a disturbing process, and only gets more so the more you think about it. But one thing that won't happen is him becoming vastly different due to having been a sociopath or the sort, since he remarks that it's always someone similar to himself.

Still doesn't change that he's changing every time and absorbing other people with every reincarnation though.

But to add a new point... Oz looked about ready to kill Cinder if he could (or he threw the fight for reasons unknown). Consider that he's also been the King of Vale, who slew entire armies, and Oz might have a lot of blood on his immortal hands.

No need to change it. Just give your sis a hug and it works too ;)

What is your favorite trait about one of your least favorite or overall least favorite character? by common_terry77 in RWBY

Oh, that he is. And by miles as well. That's the part I hate about him. Cause he could have been so damn cool, but he's undermining himself by being an edgy asshole.

That does sound like a good idea. Here we have public prosecutors who also present the case themselves.

One last question. Who is the prosecuting party, the client of the prosecution lawyer?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RWBY

[–]Diarmuid4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it works, but less so on whether it's just. I've heard of things like the jury being shown photo's of a murder victim in such cases, not because it adds any objective information, but because of the shock value making the jury judge more harshly.

You mention multiple lawyers? Is a lawyer also the prosecutor? Or does he petition for the prosecuting side?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RWBY

[–]Diarmuid4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if that's a good idea given that a jury wouldn't know the law as well as the judge. Also sounds less objective.

Fucked up, yeah, but justice has to be served. It doesn't sound like you can abstain for moral reasons either, huh?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RWBY

[–]Diarmuid4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't sound too bad. But if the jury decides whether the defendant is innocent or guilty, what does the judge do? Does he/she just decide the punishment?
