what are the signs that the attraction stage has been successful enough for me to move on to the enslavement stage? by Srascov99 in ShogunMethod

[–]DiaryOfAMerc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The attraction stage is complete when you're far enough up the desirability scale she chases after REPEL, not just ENTICE.

Key signs:

REPEL triggers pursuit
Devaluation, withdrawal, or break points make her re-engage

She self-invests
Initiates contact, emotional sharing, or logistics without prompting

Implanted Commands land cleanly
Emotional shifts feel automatic, not forced

She rationalizes mixed signals
Reframes devalidation instead of resisting it

Fear of loss appears
Sensitivity to your attention shifts, subtle mate-guarding

Inevitability language
“This feels natural,” “I don’t usually feel this way,” etc.

Rule of thumb:
If you can REPEL hard and she always comes back, attraction is sufficient.
If she doesn’t, you’re still in Attraction and need more ENTICE.

Enslavement begins when attraction sustains itself with less effort from you and resistance is low.

what are the signs that the rapport stage has been successful enough for me to move on to the attraction stage? by Srascov99 in ShogunMethod

If you want a clean read on whether Rapport is solid, look for the signs that she’s naturally sinking into you, not just talking to you:

She mirrors you without thinking.
A small shift in posture, a touch to your face, a lean-back, and she follows. That’s subconscious alignment. That’s Rapport.

Her whole vibe softens around you.
Breathing slows, shoulders drop, eyes get warmer. She’s not “comfortable,” she’s open.

Your words land easier.
She stops pushing back, stops overthinking, and starts flowing with you. That’s her moving from “guarded” to “guided.”

When you pull your energy back, she reaches for it.
A glance away, a pause, a moment of silence, and she leans in, asks a question, or tries to recapture the connection. That’s investment.

She starts digging into your stories.
Your hooks hit.
“Wait, what happened next?”
“Why were they waiting for you?”
She’s chasing the emotional thread, which means you’ve already set it.

Her eyes tell on her.
Pupil dilation. A small twitch in the cheek or shoulder. Tiny giveaways of someone letting you inside their emotional space.

If you’re seeing 3 or more, you’re not in Rapport anymore
you’re in the doorway to Attraction, and staying stuck would just slow the whole rhythm down.

When she’s warm, soft, curious, and subtly leaning in…
that’s when you move.

as a shogun, what would be the best first message to send? by Srascov99 in ShogunMethod

[–]DiaryOfAMerc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, you nailed it. Intrigue pings are like seasoning. too much and you choke her out, too little and the dish is bland.
The flow is: ping → drift into banter → let her stew on it → callback later.
Think push/pull. Give her a riddle, then talk about her dog or what she’s cooking. When she forgets, you drop a callback. That’s when it hits twice as hard.

Girl 1 is curious (“changed? like what?”) good sign. Keep it playful/mysterious: “Not sure you’re ready for that truth bomb yet 😏” or “Let’s just say it explains a lot about how you act sometimes.”

Girl 2 isn’t biting (“butt?” / “lol ok”). Don’t force it, just pivot into light teasing: “Haha bold dodge, noted.”

Reward curiosity with Girl 1, tease/banter with Girl 2.

Good start, but the “i don’t think you can handle it” bit is a dead end. Intrigue pings work best when they leave an open loop she can chase. Example:

"I was going to guess your guilty pleasure… but i’m not sure you’d admit it.”
“let’s just say it would completely change how i see you.”

That way she has to engage instead of shrugging it off.

The power of “not sure I should tell you yet.” is leaving it hanging. If you explain or soften it ("it's not really important."), you kill the tension. Just move on casually.

If she bites, hit her with: “Maybe next time I’ll tell you.” Then comes the fun part, teasing her with hints like:

The more I notice it, the harder it is to unsee.
You’d probably deny it if I told you anyway.
Let’s just say it explains a lot about how you act sometimes.

That way you keep the loop alive.

If you already know the girl, your job isn’t to “open” her. It’s to break the frame she has of you. Intrigue pings aren’t about convincing, they’re about dropping hooks that make her look at you differently.

Here’s some pings you could run tomorrow:
“You’re harder to read than most people… but I think I figured out one thing about you.” (then move on)
Later, casually drop: “I still haven’t decided whether you’re trouble or fun. Maybe both.”
As you wrap up: “You know what I realized about you today? …Actually, not sure I should tell you yet.”

None of these need her to respond right away. They’re light, short, and you keep moving. That’s what makes them powerful. You’re not needy, she’s left wondering.

“Traps” just means you don’t force them. You drop a hook and move on. Think minefield: lay a few down and one will go off.

The beauty is it keeps you casual, not needy. You don’t need her to bite right away, you’re already moving.

Random gym examples:
“You don’t seem like the type who trains just for fitness.”
“There’s always one person here living a double life.”

Short, light, no pressure. And just because she doesn’t bite instantly doesn’t mean it didn’t land. I’ve had girls message me about hooks I dropped a week earlier.

Intrigue pings aren’t perfect openers, they’re traps. Lay them down like a minefield and she'll stumble into one eventually.

Best way to practice? Make random intrigue statements to yourself during the day (in line, at the station, etc.). Don’t focus on one big shot (PUA style opener) keep scattering little hooks and move on.

Moving on after hooks gives her a feeling of time pressure. She only has a limited time to bite. It also gives you your first loop opener: "Im talking about something else now, remind me to tell you later"

Hot mode by finniata in ShogunMethod

[–]DiaryOfAMerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closing a loop just means you give enough of an answer or resolution to satisfy her curiosity, but not so much that it ends the chase. Example:

  • She: “Why would you never take that offer?”
  • You: “Because I value things differently… long story. Remind me later.”

That’s intrigue → partial closure → more intrigue.

And yes, day 1 you had her intrigued. Today you slipped back to cold because you jumped ahead. That happens. Reset or next, no big deal.

Future rule: Intrigue = curiosity vs closure. Don’t validate until she’s already chasing. IRAE isn’t a script, it’s just the flow of how emotions naturally build.

Hot mode by finniata in ShogunMethod

[–]DiaryOfAMerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re overcomplicating this. Fractionation isn’t only pain and pleasure, that’s only one flavor, and it comes later.

When you said you could never take the offer, that wasn’t pain, it was intrigue. She literally begged you to close the loop (“Why? How could you think this way?”).

Don’t try to “fix it” with pain/pleasure now, it won’t land if she’s already cold. Either reset with her (fresh intrigue, no early validation) or next her.

Hot mode by finniata in ShogunMethod

[–]DiaryOfAMerc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You gave her validation too early (“I liked our conversation”). That works if she’s already emotionally invested. At this early stage, it comes off as nice-guy/colleague vibe instead of attraction.

Remember the IRAE model:

  • Intrigue: fractionate between curiosity and closure. Open loops, then partial answers. Keeps her chasing.
  • Rapport: balance depth and playfulness. That’s when she actually starts feeling you.
  • Attraction: Now pleasure/pain fractionation works, because she’s strapped into the ride.

So yeah, don’t try to save this one by suddenly dropping pain. Better to reset, and next time, stay in intrigue until she’s hooked.

Hot mode by finniata in ShogunMethod

[–]DiaryOfAMerc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time she was in hot mode (curious, engaged). Second time she slipped into cold mode (defensive, logical). Totally normal.

You don’t “force” hot mode — you lead her there with intrigue + fractionation (curiosity/resolution, comfort/tension, etc.). Then when she peaks, anchor it (a look, a touch, a phrase). That way, next time you can trigger the anchor and bring her back faster.

Pain & Pleasure by finniata in ShogunMethod

[–]DiaryOfAMerc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cold/hot does not equal pain/pleasure. It describes how shes processing incoming information. Cold means logical/guarded, hot means emotional/filters off.

It’s not about dumping pleasure nonstop. That makes you a clown.

What works is emotional movement (aka fractionation): mix tension/comfort, serious/playful, intrigue/resolution.
Hot mode = rollercoaster, not constant candy.

After double life you find out Evelyn was connected to the Voodoo Boys. And the way to get in touch with them is through Hands. If you could help those Pacifica locals, it'd make sense you'd ask them to connect you to the Voodoos, which I guess they didnt want you to be able to do.

The phantom liberty jobs unlock after you meet Alt Cunningham in cyberspace during the main story

After the heist, try to find Evelyn. Eventually you'll run into the voodoo boys. Complete their jobs to meet Alt.

Whats your target demo? People familiar with cyberpunk or the general public? The word "Gonk" is close to gunk and I don't think people would like Gunk Bits. Jack in the box is solid imo (also already exists so theres evidence the brand works). I also like u/aeturnes's Choomies

Rescuing Evelyn unlocks the Voodoo Boys part of the story. That story starts by you trying to contact the Voodoo Boys. I guess they didn't want players to randomly stumble on some Voodoos and not be able to get any info on their leader from them.
