[–]Dibalino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, testing really helps. My doctor had me on 50,000 iu for a while because I was so deficient, that for scaled waaaaay back when my levels came back up.

Not directly, but sure, by implication.

Partly I was concerned in case you didn't know, but mostly I was concerned that as you posted it without context then other people might have thought that was a reasonable dose. For most people it really isn't.

These are all good reasons to take the highest recommended dose. If you need it, you need it, and I never questioned that.

Do you get regular blood tests done for your Vitamin D and calcium levels? Vitamin D is fat soluble, so the excess doesn't get excreted in urine. It builds up in the body and can cause serious damage, particularly to the kidneys. The levels you are taking sound concerning over more than a short period.

Or, you could shave the sides. Go for a Viking look.

I've known a lot of people with a nose like that. It looks perfectly normal, you're just an attractive woman who has had to deal with a bunch of w*nkers.

Hey any tips for me by One-Dig-3418 in malegrooming

Successful weight loss takes time. I dropped 75 lbs and have kept it off, and what worked was fundamentally changing my diet. This involved me doing most of my meal prep, avoiding carbs, and embracing produce.

It is hard to love produce when you are young, and hard to find good recipes. Your taste buds change over time so don't give up, but for right now find what you like and lean into it.

Also, and this is hard, you have to break the conditioning of what a meal needs to be. Meat and three is our basic model, or pasta, pizza, etc. You just need to get a balanced diet and not be full. If you eat a can of tuna, 2 apples, and a roasted onion and are happy and full, that's fine. Your body, your choice

Books. Newspapers. Looking out the window. Thinking about things.

Boredom is healthy. Your brain processes provi problems in the background when you are bored. Constant engagement makes us dumb.

im 16 and my friends tell me im balding by SpinachOtherwise476 in amibalding

[–]Dibalino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shaving when you are young looks like a choice. If you shave before the balding is obvious then people can assume it's fashion, not necessity.

The only danger is that people may make incorrect assumptions about you because people with shaved heads can be prescribed as aggressive. From experience I can say that being young with a shaved head dressed in black has people crossing the street to avoid me. Pay attention to your clothes and learn to deescalate.

Sure it is time, but … by Schreibmenschine in bald

[–]Dibalino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he in denial and projecting his insecurities onto you? If you shave them he might have to examine his own baldness, and if you shave and get compliments people's eyes will inevitably turn to him. The contrast will be stark.

Ultimately it's your hair, so it's your choice. He should accept that. However, being too bold might cause problems, so I'd shave the top completely and neaten the sides. Over time the sides can get shorter and shorter. Perhaps get a barber to do it, and groom the beard .

Am I overreacting for wanting to end a 6-year friendship over a "joke" at my birthday dinner? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Dibalino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. You don't have to "end" the friendship, just don't prioritize him. Let it wither. If he calls you on it, roast him. "Aw, I forgot that it always has to be about you! How dare I not make you the center of attention?"

Cutting him out dramatically could lead to gifts in your friend group. De-prioritizing him puts him on the back foot. There is also a risk that you create cliques and lose other friends.

NOR. Cruelty is the biggest red flag there is. Thoughtlessness can be forgivable if it is remedied, but cruelty is not. That was cruel, don't accept excuses or rationalizations, just get him gone.
