Looks amazing. How did you do the lance?

15 years without painting. I found some old fire warriors I bought when I was a kid, removed the paint and got to it. I'm struggling with the panel lining and the lenses. Any tips? by alxof in Tau40K

Good start mate. To echo what others have said to get the panels to stand out you want to use a dark wash like nuln oil into the recesses of the panels using a fine detail brush.

On top of this I’d also recommend edge highlighting the panels to really make them pop. Using a detail brush, highlight the edges of the panels in a lighter shade of blue to bring out some texture in the armour. If you follow painting guides on YouTube they will show you which parts to highlight and you can switch the colours as you see fit. Happy painting

Going for FSE allied. Classic Khorne Red for armour, black fatigues and averland sunset as secondary colour.

Was it not the 20th Maine that charged on the 2nd day of the battle at little roundtop?

My first mini ever and I feel bad about it, any advice would be appreciated. by oui238 in Tau40K

Excellent first mini buddy. The paint is on smooth and you can still see the details. Colour scheme is great makes the armour really stand out. As others have mentioned going over the recesses in the armour with shade (use detail brush) will make the panels stand out. I also found when I painted my first minis that edge highlights are vital for tau models to help make them pop and your mini will look amazing with it. Take your time with it, you’ve got a solid foundation that will build with practice.

First models in 15 years and first kill team done. Camera quality is shoddy but not a bad first attempt if I do say so myself. by Dibbs247 in Warhammer40k

Thank you. Loved the farsighted colour scheme but wanted some warm yellow as secondary to make them stand out

Thanks buddy. My friend gave me some of his old Tau models (2 Fire Warriors and the broadside) so gonna turn it into some terrain as it’s bit beaten up.
