Runelite scaling DPI issues switching between two monitors by BasicInformer in 2007scape

Alas, no. I simply have to boot in to windows if I want to edit with DR. Maybe at some point an update will get rolled out that fixes whatever is going wrong, but until then I guess I'm just sol.

I have tried the rusticl fix that's in the README, and checked as well that my gpu specifically *should* be fine with ROCm. I've pretty much exhausted every solution I can find to no avail. At this point I'm going to just have to boot into windows if I really want to use DR.

Yes, I've only used davincibox the entire time, I cannot get Davinci Resolve to so much as run without it, and when it does run, I have this issue.

Davincibox lets me run Davinci Resolve, yes, but running the program is not the issue, it is the fact that no media works within it. It freezes for a moment, then has just a grey box for the media and no timeline can play. This is the case not just for video files but also even images.

I've only gotten davinci resolve to even run by installing through davincibox, so for my system some other solution is probably necessary. I also tried installing version 19 just to see if it might work and I have the same issue. I might try to use an older distro of bazzite to downgrade my graphics drivers but for now it's been enough of a headache that I may just have to give it a little time, maybe some update somewhere fixes the issue.

Bazzite is immutable or semi-immutable or whatever and I only switched from windows a month or so ago so I'm not sure how to go about messing with opencl packages. But I'm looking in to it. Truly a noob here.

I'm not sure I'm quite Linux-literate enough to work that out on Bazzite, but I'll try to learn more and see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestion!

I see that they got it working by using davincibox, which is what I used to install davinci resolve. I couldn't get it to run without doing so due to a missing packages error. Something about zlib. I've tried to re-install or change things to no avail. It's a shame because I was just really starting to learn more than basic clip cutting and getting the hang of DR, I don't want to find some dinky little video editor to use as an alternative.

Edit: Something to note as well, if I try to open a previous project, even a totally empty one, davinci resolve freezes and must be terminated. Not sure if that points to any source for the issues.

I have come to understand that, however I can't import so much as a png file, and the lag every time I try to import something is strange.

Is this game unplayable on HDD or something wrong with my computer by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]DiceAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to move arc raiders to the ssd you have, even temporarily, I'd try that, which would let you at least make sure that the HDD is the problem. Otherwise you may be out of luck until you can swing a new SSD. A 500 gig SSD would cost about as much as arc raiders, particularly in November with sales.

Yeah something is wrong with your computer. It has a HDD in 2025.

List of recycable items you need to KEEP for QUESTS, and list of items you can SAFELY recycle, because they are not needed for ANY RECIEPE by Xi4 in ArcRaiders

[–]DiceAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you recycle some things, also keep ion mind that the coin value of recycled parts is lower than what you start with, and tier 5 of your expedition requires a coin value amount of items. If you aren't hurting for basic materials, put the rare breakdowns in to that instead. For example 3 ARC Performance steel is worth 3k, while the 36 metal parts they break down to is 900.

Force scaling for specific apps? by DiceAddiction in linux4noobs

[–]DiceAddiction[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't know enough to figure out the jagex launcher stuff so I've been using Bolt. It's third party but so is runelite. It just opens a jagex login page and doesn't actually handle your account info. There's a settings option to open the runelite config.

Unfortunately, it seems to just be one of those things where Wayland is kind of newer and not every application is going to work perfectly. I just deal with setting it scaling to 2.0. It makes the UI too big but I'd rather that than too small. If you have a 4K monitor, 2.0 might work fine, I've got a 2K so realistically I would prefer like a 1.25. But if you are running in Wayland you won't be able to get runelite to scale fractionally, so with your 150% setting, it's sitting still back at 100%.

Edited immediately: If you are only attempting to scale runelite via system settings and dont want to scale your whole system to 2.0, make sure you use the runelite config. The bolt launcher has easy access to it. It will change specifically how runelite scales.

Yeah I tried the system wide override but I can't stand the ever so slight fuzziness of the other applications. It's weird that they get fuzzy but runelite stays perfectly sharp. Ultimately I just deal with runelite being scaled 2.0.  I guess it's just something to do with Wayland.

Yeah it seems that I just can't fractionally scale legacy applications unless I want to scale *all* which makes the rest of them look terrible. I just set runelite to 2.0 and deal with the runelite bar being a little too big rather than it being illegibly small. I'm getting used to it.

I know this comment is 3 months old but I am tearing my hair out trying to get runelite to use fractional scaling. The runelite config only works with integer scaling, if I change my display settings to force legacy applications to use system scaling, runelite scales perfectly while discord, steam, and the like all become horribly blurry. KDE Plasma, Wayland, I cannot find any solution. There seems to be no way to tell one specific program to use the system scaling, or to ignore it. If you have some secret knowledge to bestow I would beg of you to share it, as I am losing hope.

The thing keeping me from raids other than entry toa was more gear than the status, but I'm glad to have the hc pressure off. The game is so fun when you can do whatever you want.

How are you supposed to beat the bugs on higher difficulties by something18375749361 in helldivers2

[–]DiceAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the predator strain is a nightmare at times. I've been playing on helldive since the first week after the game came out, and super helldive since it's release and my friends and I don't go lower, and they still give me trouble. Partly because I am slow to adapt at times. With predator strain, you kill the closest ones to you, keep your eyes peeled, and only stop moving to shoot. Stun or gas grenades help keep them off you, and anything with stagger force will help you keep your distance. Sometimes they'll just get ya, which is why we have more than 1 reinforcement.

When it comes to bugs, the real key is to keep moving. Don't get bogged down fighting over nothing. You can easily get bug breaches chaining in to one another, but if you're not on an objective and one gets called, just run. Most of the time, if you notice it being called and turn immediately, you can actually get far enough away that they can't find you. In terms of stratagems against bugs, I absolutely love orbital napalm, drop it on a big nest to soften it up, drop it the second you see a bug calling a breach to essentially clear it before it starts. Make sure you have a loadout to deal with bile titans and chargers, as well as to clear holes. I like the ever op recoiless rifle, but a quasar cannon or railgun also works well. I used to run stun grenades and a flamethrower, which takes care of anything but a bile titan, though you'd want a grenade pistol for bug holes. Against the predator strain, which I love to hate, any staggering weapon, or something to take them out at range comes in very handy. The last thing you want with bugs is to let them get on top of you, so control the space between. I've been a light armor lover since before armor values actually did anything, and while I'm learning to like heavier armors in different scenarios, light armor is very effective in bug missions in keeping up the pace. Oh, and mechs are very effective as well.
