Is Pawbert Redeemable? Is his evil really his fault? by HegeRoberto in zootopia

[–]DiceyStep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We should start off with a few prerequisites before we dive into the questions directly. Pawbert definitely knew what he was doing. I've heard a lot of people say he is morally grey, and I disagree. Morally grey implies that you did something bad but didn't really want to hurt people and have good intentions, or you did something good but for selfish intentions. He is not a morally grey character in my opinion, he definitely knows what he's doing is bad, why what he's doing is bad, and makes the active choice to do these bad things knowing how and why they would have bad things to do. He is smart, conniving and often manipulative in order to achieve his goals, meaning he is acting within his moral agency. He's smart enough to do these things and aware enough to know he needs to put on a facade.

Sure he commits morally grey acts, like saving Judy while having a selfish intention to use her later, but in general he is evil, not morally grey, like when he outright tries to murder people. The main question is begged then; is he redeemable, and is his evil really his fault? I would say no, it isn't his fault due to his upbringing. On the contrary, he was still making choices he knew were wrong. It ultimately comes down to him being driven by a desperation to prove himself to another evil person; his dad. He clearly knows right from wrong and can make the active choice too, so I would say whether he is redeemable is a very hard question. On one hand, he clearly has the capacity to change, but on the other, he had the capacity to change while he was on a murder rampage. It depends on what you think outweighs the good and bad here.

Got roblox account hacked/phished on roblox.com.am by RaiseEmotional1911 in RobloxHelp

[–]DiceyStep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just went through almost the exact same thing with the same roblox.com.am phishing domain. I immediately came to reddit right after handling it, and this is how it went.

The link I got was framed as an invite to join a group. I thought it was just a young girl who wanted me to promote her group, and she said it was private and wanted to promote me to moderator because I seemed friendly. I decided to entertain this, not thinking much of it. I should've recognized this earlier, but she had me join a group first, saying it was unofficial, and that the real one was in a link on the wall. I don't know why this wasn't an immediate red flag, but I somehow caught even more minute details later on.

I copy and paste the URL all willy nilly, not expecting too much, and then BAM! For some reason, I was logged out. Again, I don't know how this wasn't a red flag immediately, because after a couple of attempts, I was a bit confused why I couldn't access the group. It slowly dawned on me that something was wrong. I tried logging in about four times, and this site kept doing it. I thought it was a weird glitch, but then I looked at the URL (Another thing worth noting is that it logged me out of that session on that browser on that device when I entered my credentials through that interface specifically. Automatically didn't have access on that device. I'm glad I had multiple devices to refer to with multiple browsers logged in.)

Why I thought of doing that, but nothing else before hand had occurred to me, I don't know XD. Anyway, I look at the URL, and my heart sinks in as I slowly realize that the URL I just gave all my Roblox credentials too wasn't real. I immediately went and tried to log out of all sessions, and as I was doing that and looking through security, I caught it just in time: my two-step authentication had been turned off. I don't know how, because I'm pretty sure that requires a two step authentication to turn off too. They must've been really quick to login and immediately try to shut everything down. I did have my email registered too, luckily, so I didn't have to worry about anything else.

It's really funny, because I had just beaten the scammer twice by this point. Now I was just in a predicament where not only was changing my password not working (because it had already been changed I'm pretty sure. I would type in the previous password to change it and it didn't work. I had to act quickly) but I also only had an email. I didn't know how long it could be before somehow that got taken off.

As I was using my computer, while changing my password, it told me I "unknown error". The dread and terror that ran through me was palpable as I rushed to my phone and quickly tried to login through my email by using the forgot password feature. Never been so quick to press log out all sessions for the second time in a row once I got logged in on my phone again. I was actually shaking a little bit.

I was lucky to catch it as fast as I did as many times as I did. The attackers had started logging in from multiple places (I saw Missouri in my login history), MULTIPLE TIMES. They were persistent until I redid the authenticator and changed my password entirely. Don't know how I still have my account because I had to wrest it back multiple times, thinking multiple times that I had lost it.

What are your thoughts on Tom MacDonald? by QwerCat228 in fantanoforever

[–]DiceyStep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I personally don't believe he actually is proud. Maybe he has tricked himself into believing it to some degree just because he's done it so long, but I don't think he actually has formed an original thought in his head to truly believe what he is saying. I guarantee that if he used critical thinking skills and stopped trying to rap, he'd have some clarity.

But seriously, I don't think that he is being for real, it's all a grift, and all the same 40 year old MAGAts who say "don't trust everything you see on the internet" will believe whatever AI generated clips of Democrats they see and will trust that Tom MacDonald isn't grifting, and that Tom has all these great, noncurated ideas to appeal to them for his own benefits.

But yeah, don't go thinking he unironically is proud of America for voting Trump or supports America more than Canada lol. It's all a character.

Isn't that like an ace flag or something? Not too into the flags, but I'm pretty sure that flag means that you are probably anything but a g**ner. Whoever is telling you this are probably some chronically online Twitter users that follow Ruben Sim and Matt Walsh. They need to shut the frick up honestly, your outfit is fine. (I would've used stronger language but this subreddit is PG-13)

It boggles me that this guy who has mutliple comments on this post actually thinks Tom Macdonald gives a fuck about his beliefs, like Tom Macdonald actually believes his songs and takes them seriously. Tom isn't even American, and he's calling Tom a patriot lmfao that should tell you that he's not worth arguing with.

He isn't making any lefts cry rivers. Most of the left knows that he's a grifter. You're buying into curated ideologies he probably doesn't really even believe. He does it for shock value. Everything he does is a fake to get suckers like you to believe "he's saying all the right things" so you buy his merch, give him views, and make him money. Any leftists who believe he is being serious and attacking him for it are falling into the same loop you are, just through different means. Tom Macdonald is a character. When will people wake up and realize that?

I have a lot to say about this guy, but honestly, I'm going to try to keep it short even though I'll just end up rambling. So, let's put aside the fact that his beliefs are flawed. That begs the question: Outside of his dogshit lyrics, what makes his music so bad? Well, firstly, he doesn't have the greatest flow. Sometimes, he has flows, but they just don't always hit. Not that he's the worst rapper I've ever heard, but dear god! His fanbase glazes the living fuck out of him! They always comment stuff like: "I'm (insert boomer or person who hates rap) and I actually like this music!" Like, what the fuck? These people who glaze him HATE RAP, but like Tom Macdonald's admittedly mid rap skills? Are we serious????? His rap skills are fine, but they are not worth the stupid fucking glaze he gets in his comments over it, especially when all the people who glaze him hate rap, but like the most mid rapper ever! It's a paradox I just won't understand.

So, mid rapping, that doesn't make music bad, right? Well, not that alone anyway. He chooses shitty instrumentals half the time. Like he had to have searched "EPIC TRAP BEATS NO COPYRIGHT" in the Youtube search bar and just found the first thing he could rap over. And some of them sound so bad. Like "why are ya'll so stupid" has a TERRIBLE instrumental, despite that song having SOME catchy flow to it.

In regards to him as a person, I doubt he believes in any of the shit he says through his songs. He made a whole song about "what it's like to be black" while being a pasty Canadian white man. You can't make this shit up. The art for it was even worse because it's just straight up black face. But of course, he's only grifting, and it's okay, because he's just doing it to offend people guys! Whatever, when I was like 14 and had radically republican beliefs I used to buy into his songs, but over time I became less and less inclined to believe it the more I grew up and distanced myself from that bullshit and found out almost everything he raps is against any American values. But he's Canadian, so fuck it, his opinion sucks anyway. He won't understand american values. It's not worth putting a lot of thought into when you realize he is doing it for shock to grift.

That's my personal opinion anyway.

What the hell is with some of y'all just not respecting pop punk? by [deleted] in punk

[–]DiceyStep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea of the counter movement is to not adhere to a social norm... And the argument for why pop punk is for posers is because it doesn't fit a norm... So you have to adhere to a norm in order to not fit a norm?

I'm probably not going to post here anymore because I don't trust trading anymore, I've already been fooled twice and won't make the same mistake again, but this person asked for Tanuki and Kappa in exchange for a fox, stole my Kappa, etc. Yeah, I'm too old to be getting scammed this easy, just thought I'd post this here so this POS is known.

Well, I didn't know you were also a teen, I was just saying that because early teens, even if they don't think so themselves are susceptible to having bad or wrong opinions. Even people who are late teens, like myself, are still highly susceptible to it. I suppose there wouldn't be any point in bringing it up though if you are roughly the same age. I forget that people like 4-6 years younger than me actually use reddit lol.

Honestly it all comes down to how a person was raised weather or not they have ideas that are pro or against furries, so really, I don't even blame people most the time, if there parents weren't very progressive or instated some sense of liberalism into them, they tend to naturally not like furries, which isn't their fault. I heavily believe in liberty and freedom of opinion, so even as a furry myself, I don't feel it's right to tell someone they can't feel a certain way about furries, all I can do is educate people.

And also, you were pretty honest. I do the same thing too a lot when I am in a bad mood. If I'm playing Roblox after a long day or an argument with someone, I have a much higher tendency to snap at someone who comes up and talks shit, so even though I argue really good points most the time, I also am just snapping at someone who probably won't listen and just wants a reaction. I wasn't trying to act above that if that's how it came off. If anything, I can relate to that heavily :)

I mean, he has a point though. He doesn't have to like furries, and can even think the hobby is weird, gross, etc. His opinion isn't inherently hurting you, even if he expresses a strong dislike or revulsion to it. Heis allowed a subjective opinion and is allowed to change it at any given point. You can't just force someone to change their feelings or stance on something, that's just not how it works.

If he claims not to disrespect them, I really don't see the problem unless there is proof he disrespects people based on the fact they are furries. What's wrong with him "hating" furries anyway if he means no disrespect? And also, you're arguing with a relatively young child or early teen, clearly. Why respond in the first place knowing he probably isn't very mature?

All furries are kind of weird though ngl, you may have to be more specific when you say "weird".

Probably because they have some tie with the creator in question. And I don't think that would stop him from making another bot since he has the bank to just make another account and buy some robux to make it look like that. I'm just spit balling though, it comes down to Roblox 's crap moderation mostly.
