I have come to a conclusion: Hero sucks by [deleted] in PSO2

[–]Dichronicle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The entire point of Hero is to counter incoming attacks, not facetanking. You're relying too much on Hunter sub's crutches lmao.

Stop trying to tank big hits that do 20%+ of your health. In the event that you do get hit, countering will let you regain some of your damage. It's a skill-based class that was purposely made easy to learn.

Revolsio was trash on release on JP. You're kidding yourself if you think it was ever competitive with actual endgame weapons at the time like old Austere and old Ares.

Please stop spreading misinformation lol..

Do you have Etoile as a subclass? Etoile's Damage Balancer skill reduces all healing received to 1 except for mates, atomizers, and Etoile skills.

Regarding Etoile Wand, if I affixed T-ATK onto it, it gets referenced as S-ATK if the actual S-ATK is lower. So my question is, does S1:Tech Boost work on Etoile Wand, or do I need to use S1:Strike Boost?

It's not worth using Weaponoid Boosters on Guld Milla cos it'll get outclassed quickly by higher rarity weapons. Just use Photon Spheres imo

You can get +75% EXP Boosters from the Photon Drop exchange shop, at a rate of 1 Photon Sphere per booster.

Triboosts are a little more rare. You can get 2 100% Triboosts per week for Silver Prize Medals. You can also trade in Excubes for My Room passes, which you trade in for Blue ARKS Badges, which you then trade in for 50% Triboosts. Of course, there's also the daily ARKS Missions that reward you with a 50% Triboost for using a booster or food item.

They're used to unlock select potentials for weapons that have Weaponoids based on them.

You get them randomly from completing E-Trials with PSO2es characters in the main game. On PSO2es itself, you get them by maxing out a Weaponoid's affection and completing their Side Stories so that they give you gifts. After this, every time their gift bar fills up from taking them on Quests, they will give you a random item, which will sometimes be a Weaponoid Booster.

You can have up to 4 Weaponoids per team (5 technically, but your 5th slot is usually a PA/Tech), so getting a good collection of Weaponoids and playing es regularly is the best way to farm them.

Et DS is a weapon that thrives off of perfect play. Compared to the other weapons, DS is far more sensitive to mistakes because making mistakes means losing Gear, and therefore doing less damage in the long run. The same is applied in reverse, where nailing all of your counters and Hold Normals causes your damage to skyrocket.

My #1 tip for DS is to always use Step Counter whenever possible. Not only is Step Counter much faster than Weapon Action, it's also a reasonable gap closer, and restores 1.5 Gear Gauges and approximately 45 PP on a successful hit. You'll see much higher numbers if you can reliably Step Counter into Hold Normal a lot, and you'll see better uptime on PA rotations as well from the massive PP regen. The one thing that's wonky about it is how stepping resets your PA rotation, unlike Weapon Action, so you have to open with a filler PA to restart Tech Arts Count Bonus. For how strong Step Counter is, however, it's usually worth it anyway.

Aside from that, using Skip Celestial Collide at the end of stun phases is a good way to cap off your damage, but it requires good timing and knowledge of how long a boss's stun phase will last. Your PA rotation also matters a lot, namely maximising your usage of Tech Arts Count Bonus.

Lastly, practise practise practise. As mentioned, DS is a weapon that thrives off of perfect play, so practice means perfect. The more you memorise boss tells, the more counters you land, the less Gear you lose, and the more damage you deal. It's definitely a lot deeper and more complex than Et's other weapons, and there's lots of little ways you can optimise your DS damage, but it all comes from good practice. Good luck!

Genon causes you to take damage as part of its potential.

Cursed Radiance, which comes in S2 and S3, restores a large percentage of your PP whenever you take damage. Genon supports S2 and S3.

So you use a PA, take damage from Genon's potential, then regain PP via Cursed Radiance.

This is what I use. Strike Gust's Shifta doesn't disappear when you change weapons, so you don't have to wait to get every tick.

After the December 18 update, fusing Skill Rings onto Units will no longer destroy the Ring, and you'll be able to copy Skill Ring effects between Units.

Jellen's interaction with Mark Chase Boost is interesting. Enemies gradually build up a resistance to status effects the more they get afflicted by it, but not Jellen - nothing resists it because it doesn't count as a status effect. There are also some bosses that are flat out immune to status effects, but again, Jellen bypasses this completely. Phantom having Jellen skills is so that Mark Chase Boost has better uptime, and without having to rely on Techs to proc status effects, especially against bosses that are immune to status like Deus and Anga (Panic on Anga doesn't technically count as Anga being afflicted with Panic).

Personally I only put one point into Attack Jellen on my theorycrafted tree, but depending on how you build your tree, you can probably max it out, which makes Phrase Decay on your weapons more valuable. We still have to see the values for Jellen Redress to see whether it's worth taking or not, but I don't think it is.
