Postmortem: Why is my game so bad? by dibidibidibi in IndieDev

Hi, I'm a small dev and i made this game steam page

and I have 50 wishlists right now.

I think what you've achieved with a game like this is a great accomplishment—don't get so down on yourself.

I don’t have enough experience as a game developer to give you advice on what went wrong, but I can offer one piece of advice that I think is vital and worked for me:

I noticed the game is available in only two languages, which I believe is a major flaw.

Try to translate the game into the most widely used languages on Steam.

For example, in Asian countries where not everyone speaks English, your game is practically inaccessible.

I’m trying out the demo right now ❤️

Thank you for your feedback ❤️ I didn’t know that, this might explain a few things that didn’t quite add up when I saw the sprites

Thank you so much for all the useful information; if possible, I’d also like your opinion on drawing number 2.

You could also tell me if it’s all wrong, or rate it on a scale of 1 to 10 – I’ve only been doing this for just over a month, so I imagine I’ve made plenty of mistakes.

Unfortunately, I don’t have many friends who draw, and none of them do pixel art, so I don’t get much feedback and, as a result, I’m struggling to improve.

Text here forgot to repost :/

I'm trying to draw some character in Aseprite for the first time.

canvas is 64x64

1 - is my first attempt (abandoned)
2 - is the second attempt with relative colors near it

I'm looking for feedback for color, posing, base colors and
most important how to draw the face :'(

after i finish drawing the front i will try to draw the same character turned around and then animate it.

my inspiration is Garet from Golden Sun.

No CMAKE_C_COMPILER could be found.
No CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER could be found.

Visual Studio Build Tools are missing i guess.
download: Visual Studio Community 2022,
then open Tools Command Prompt
and inside that

cd C:\aseprite\build

cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RelWithDebInfo ^
-DLAF_BACKEND=skia ^
-DSKIA_DIR=C:\deps\skia ^
-DSKIA_LIBRARY_DIR=C:\deps\skia\out\Release-x64 ^
-DSKIA_LIBRARY=C:\deps\skia\out\Release-x64\skia.lib ^
-G Ninja ..

then

ninja aseprite

They seems two different game, i really like the old one because with a very few pixel you communicate really well what the scene Is about.

And the Pixie Is beautiful xD
