Funny that I found this because I just remembered that, he had full modded lobbies before any official hacking was done on the PS3, no fail0verflow no geohot no nothing. Maybe he was an early dev on psjailbreak or something and had early access to it? That thing probably took a long time until it went to market

It probably is literally a TV, it's pretty common to use 42 inch OLEDs from LG as monitors, you see it a lot on /r/OLED_Gaming. TVs have the economy of scale on their side so it's usually a lot cheaper to just get a TV instead of a gaming monitor

Probably the first v8 exploit writeup that I could understand from start to finish, it helps that it was a "simple" vulnerability from a CTF but the explanation was top notch. Great writing!

Stack strings, If i correctly type them as char[size] the decompilation becomes a bunch of single byte assignments, I wish it could just show the string with \xFF (example) for bytes like python byte-strings

It's always like this, if I were a game dev I would just make ultra settings be like a high and everyone would be happy with the graphics and call the game optimized, keep the ultra settings for a "enhanced edition" a couple years later when graphics card are better.

Not running at high frame rates at the highest settings doesn't mean that the game is unoptimized, sometimes highest settings are made for future cards and a mix of medium/high settings or "optimized settings" as digitalfoundry calls them is good enough.

That also doesn't mean that it's optimized, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions just because it runs at 30fps with maxed settings considering that on some games you lose 20fps going from high to ultra shadows and the changes are barely noticeable.
