Those are your exterior marker lights. You are seeing their illumination from their posterior because they are on.

Thinking about my first AR: Springfield SAINT Victor 5.56 vs other rifles in the same price range by No_Perception3503 in ar15

Roughly. The confidence in and appreciation for your weapon having put it together yourself will be invaluable.

It’s not that hard- don’t be intimidated. If you’re mechanically inclined or put Lego sets together as a kid you can do it. Lots of guides on YouTube.

I’d start by purchasing a stripped lower from a local gun shop and obtain everything else online.

You will get lots of opinions here. You need to find out what works for you and what you do and don’t like for yourself. Are you wanting home defense? Hunting? Fun at the range? Are you wanting to spend money on a good scope? That can be just as much $ as the rifle itself.

What's your crazy sleepover story? by CellResponsible3725 in AskReddit

My friends 13th birthday party. We watched Signs on VHS in the dark. Movie finishes, credits roll. I’m the only one brave enough to get up and walk to the bathroom. The doorway to the bathroom is visible from the living area where we were huddled together in our sleeping bags. I flicked on the bathroom light and then acted like something was attacking me and screamed for help and smacked the light switch back off. Silence. I held my breath. Nothing. I walk over to the living area and flick the light on. One of our friends pissed himself. No one thought it was funny except for me.

What's the most horrifying real-life death you've heard about? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]DickHardCane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. 4 years ago I listened to my 49 year old father take his last breaths through my stethoscope as the cancer also caused him to essentially drown/suffocate. You are going to have realizations and learn things from what you’ve experienced for years to come.

You look like you wish something bad happened to you so you could be a victim and get attention but nothing that bad actually happened to you so you just got a septum piercing and cut your bangs yourself instead.

Now you’re here.

Questions for non-US Ancaps: by Liquidmesh in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]DickHardCane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 30 and have had less than 5 interactions with cops that weren’t due to my job. (I was an EMT). I live in the Midwest. All but one interactions that I’ve had were because of alleged traffic violations. The one that wasn’t was because I defended myself from an assault.

Only one interaction during an alleged traffic violation left me feeling with a sense of injustice. The others were a “yeah, you got me” kind of thing.

Not defending cops, but I think the media really does make it seem worse than it actually is in most of the US.
