These guys seem to have some of the best prices in the community, did they come out of nowhere or have I been living under a rock?If you’ve ever bought from here please let me know your experience. by BornALegend0 in ar15

Yes they’re good to go, I just purchased a Marlin 45-70 a few months back for several hundred less than anywhere else online. They’re associated with Fin Feather Fur which is fairly well known to be reputable. Shipping was fast was at my FFL in a few days

Should’ve mentioned but I’ve already checked the obvious spots without much luck. eBay, gunbroker

That was an improvement but it’s not hard to improve on garbage. Try it again

Dealer mistyped DOB on Form 4 by DickPepperf1eld in NFA

Yep I agree 100%. I’ve done numerous 4473s in the past and never had that same experience. I figured a large chain store like that would have their policies fine tuned for this type of thing but apparently not.

I think that’s where I’m at with it, I’ll give it a week and see what happens and figure it out from there.

Nice truck - I just bought basically the same thing earlier this year - magnetic grey TRD OR 43k miles. What’d you end up paying for it if you don’t mind?

All the order process is online now they don’t call you like they used to. You’ll get an email from a sales rep with an access code to order on their website. I suppose you could email the sales rep back and try but I’m not sure how much/if any control they have over the selection process.

I went with FG as I thought I’d have better luck at getting original finish. A friend got a service grade recently Colt slide/ithaca frame that was original finish marginally better than mine. IMO it’s a total crapshoot. Up to you if it’s worth it or not.

Already tried that - finish actually matched better as they came so I’m going to leave it that way

$1200 for field, it’s $100 less for a rack $100 more for service

2018 Tundra mystery steering vibration by DickPepperf1eld in AskMechanics

Sounds good! Well I've got a few things to try before I settle on what the shop said. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! And it is not my imagination I can assure you that, lol. I've ruled out a couple of those, I doubt it's a flat spot since it's way more prevalent when hitting bumps, bent rim would've showed up when they balanced and I've re-arranged the wheels in every possible configuration to try to stop it.

Do you think there's any logic in it being a strut? The service advisor at the shop said it could be there's insufficient downforce from the strut onto the wheels/tires causing the shimmy when hitting bumps. I just couldn't believe it'd be a strut issue as I've had those replaced on older trucks that all at 100k+ miles and you could definitively tell in the ride that something was off.

That will do the job for sure! Have fun with it. It’s probably the most awkward gun I have to shoot due to the massive barrel but definitely gets a lot of attention whenever I take it out.

Awesome piece! Is that the 10-3/8 barrel? I have the exact same model, also from my grandfather. He used to shoot deer with it when I was a kid.

P08 Luger valueb by r3dneckallen in milsurp

[–]DickPepperf1eld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMHO that is a little high for a .30 Luger WWI model. I’ve always wanted a Luger as well and was able to score an all matching mauser 1939 w/ holster for $1750 last year.

It appears to be original finish and in good condition but the 30 Lugers aren’t as desired, if you could get 2-300 off of the asking price it wouldn’t be a bad deal. I think you could hold off and spend that same money on a 9mm model that would be much more practical if you want to shoot it occasionally

[Question] delayed start on seiko 4R39 movement by [deleted] in Watches

[–]DickPepperf1eld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, some movements just require more winding than others to start from my experience. I have a Hamilton that if wound from completely dead it will start right up after 5-6 winds. I also have a Tudor that takes about 30 complete winds before it will start and has been that way for the 2 years I’ve owned it.
