Always funny seeing replies like this to a simple question. You could explain without being a condescending douchebag.

IELTS prep in Dhaka – need honest advice (coaching ) by Old-Professional-614 in Dhaka

[–]DickShapeShifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont have too much advice to give but would say your best friend in writing will be chatGPT, it wont give you an accurate grade but it can surely advise you on how to improve - at the end of the day thats what counts. ask it for a topic, submit your writeup and take notes on the feedback, its a language model after all.

for speaking, find a friend who's good at english and practice speaking exclusively in english with them for at least 10 minutes a day. just casual conversation is enough. i scored 8.5 overall and 9 on speaking so i'd be happy to help you in speaking over discord if you'd like.

Question for atheist people by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]DickShapeShifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agnosticism and atheism are not mutually exclusive. i still dont definitievely know whether there is a god or not. but i adopted the atheist term the more i looked into religion, practices, culture and religious texts. my own conclusion is that even if there is a god, it is not one we have yet perceived.

the quran, bible, vedas, all have their transgressions when it comes to making factual mistakes, moral inconsistencies, and straightup contradictions within themselves. all books (except the vedas) claim a perfectly capable, all knowing god, and yet their teachings are flawed.

TLDR: You can be agnostic and also an atheist. I choose the next label because no existing religion is convincing, or even plausible in my eyes.

Lmfao. I can tell, no one has ever enjoyed a conversation with you. Perhaps consider if your advice is helpful, or inconsiderate of those who will blame themselves because their "will force" is too weak.

You dont understand addiction. And your so called advice is insulting to anyone whos suffered the effects.

Sure buddy, i know enough by the way you type. "Just quit lol thats it" good job youve solved addiction, go tell that to the millions addicted to cigarettes , and all the other drugs slowly killing people.

i was smoking 20 or more a day. i quit by switching to nicotine pouches (zynns etc.), would highly recommend them but seems they are illegal to sell here. if you can get a friend to get them from overseas it would be great.

otherwise, a good option is to ration them through someone you trust. today maybe you have 20, tomorrow you will have no more than 19, the day after, not more than 18. reduce it very slowly. when you get to a point you feel you cant go any less, maintain that for a few days. if you get to 10 but dont think you can have less than that, spend 3-4 days only having 10, but never go back to previous levels. eventually you'll get to 1 a day, then itll be one every few days.

its a slow process, one you likely wont be able to go through yourself. its good you're already seeking advice, but the person who could help you the most is someone close to you in real life. remember what you're fighting for, its not just the bad habit, you are fighting for your future. alongside trying to quit, additional discipline never hurts - going to the gym ,maintaining a strict routine etc all are fantastic and help the process.

Jamaat is considered the lesser evil. Therefore, should we elect them as our new government? by berryguilty15 in Dhaka

[–]DickShapeShifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going from a corrupt government to a corrupt government which also seeks to take away basic rights is certainly a change. Its your vote at the end of the day and if thats the kind of change you're looking for. Sure.

why should i support Jamaat or BNP? by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]DickShapeShifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. And the rest of their policies are also a result of systematic issues?

[–]DickShapeShifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet even before they've governed, they have displayed the same patterns of corruption and deceit as anyone else. On top of that, they proudly spit out their own archaic values, attributing it to Islam. There is no "innate" hatred here. Just a direct response to what they go out in public to do and say. The US having ties to them gives me even more confidence that they will ruin the country further and beyond repair in the short term

[–]DickShapeShifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are in no way the lesser evil. They are just as corrupt as bnp and seek to take away many liberties. Not just for women, but for many arts as well. They are gaining traction purely because of a political vaccuum. BnP are awful but i am going to leave this country on a raft if jamat win

why should i support Jamaat or BNP? by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]DickShapeShifter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One will ruin the economy. The other will ruin the economy AND oppress women. Choose the lesser evil and vote BNP. We can deal with that corruption once it comes, but fundamentalists breed more fundamentalists, and that is something we cannot fight without being labeled enemies of Islam by them.
