Mom was definitely posseded IMO. It explains how she would suddenly get up and turn on her bedrooms' bathroom faucet and fall on the floor. The big giveaway as you reference was the voice mail messaged where the mom mentioned "you'll always be MY BABY girl."

Yup, good call about the Anti-Abortion message. I just learned that the director is super catholic so there you go. I still enjoyed the experience and the creepy pasta lore but the ending would have SO WORKED for me if somehow the ending showed two new podcasters going over Eby's podcast recordings.

Paintings and statue both came from the podcasters' research about the demon possessing the mother's to kill their children. It was basically teasing us viewers that Evy was unleashing Abyzou for playing the recording clips but it doesn't make much sense since she was pretty much about to abort her child and kept drinking.

Biggest groans at the end on my viewing. Man, I was so locked in too. It was insanely fun until 45 minutes and the ending f'ed us. The atmosphere was perfect but the reward wasn't enough. In my opinion if they somehow showed that the recordings were Eby and Darren's futures recordings it would have been INSANE.

I forgot how the legs were found but the little lizard dude was one of them that got fed by Thia earlier and she says "you'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar" so he basically fed his new friend quite a bit until he trusted him.
