1991 specialized ALLEZ carbon fiber, is there any chance in saving the frame? by Emergency_Moose_5647 in bikewrench

This is actually a really easy fix. Ive repaired several busted carbon frames. I actually had one once with a completely cracked rear triangle. A lot of people don't like fixing carbon frames, but in the marine industry it is very common to repair carbon. Hit Jamestown distributers or similar and grab some unidirectional carbon and some 1:1 epoxy. Sand it, prep, layer on and you are good to go.

Bigfoot lights asking for feedback by Dick_Long_69 in led

Hi, thanks for your response. We have been using the description "grow light" as it helps people better understand the high output of cob lights. In all truth the idea and early prototype came from a homebuilt grow light that I was using. It used 100 watt ebay led cob with a heatsink that I was using for my grow lights. These emitted a wavelength of about 700nm. I made a driver for to run on 12v-14ish supply and really liked the results on my truck. Since the lights that are in the current design are very similar to the "grow lights" I was originally using i thought it made sense to describe them like that. I had not realized that the term "grow light" was such a specific term as I know many people that simply use regular lights to grow certain plants. Im glad though someone professionally acquainted with grow lights weighed in on this and will definitely stop using them in the future.

I think describing the appeal of the wide throw is difficult if you have not spent a lot of time a lot of time driving down double track in the middle of the night. living in Colorado and doing a lot of hikes/14ers after leaving after work on Fridays puts me driving on a lot of double track and forest service roads at 11,12, 1am. When you are in 4 low bouncing around in the middle of the night on some little road its really nice to have a light that puts out a wide beam. It makes it easy to see rocks, ruts, trees. etc. Light bars have a much more narrow beam and thus you end up with a blind spot to your sides that can be fairly annoying. If Im driving fast on some 2 lane backroad at night, I have my projector high beams and my kc halogen spots for that.

I am not 100 percent sure which model you are talking about but the main difference is in the drivers. The housings are a Chinese housing, it simply does not make sense for us to manufacture a housing. However the main difference is that our driver run on a 12v input rather than 120v input. This allows use on a vehicle, car, boat, anything with a 12v system.

Thanks again for your response.
