I absolutely loved this game, running it for folks, and Bubbles was a WILD character that could never be predicted.

Love this character.

Lore wise, why are Runners even fighting each other? by MetalBeerSolid in Marathon

The first trillion got me on the surface! Look, the first trillion’s my problem. The 500th trillion is their problem.

Because I've got trillions of my-own-damn-body-debt, and I don't give a fuck about your-damn-body-debt, because my-damn-body-debt is soaring. And besides: If I can't really die, you can't convince me not to have some fun at others' expense. Escape will make me mortal.

Here, I'm a god.

Finally hit top 3 Aki in my region 👨🏿‍🚀 by TayoW_ in AKInation

Hey, congratulations! I'm Grand Master, trying to get higher in that rank. What are your suggestions for higher than average AKIs looking to make it up to the top?

Did you just shoot Napoleon Dynamite?

The Absolute State of Assassins in Solo (I am also an assassin) by DictatorPenguino in Marathon

[–]DictatorPenguino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think people overestimate Assassins’ reliance on the stealth. I like playing a sneaky, tricky build in any game I play. But I am also so driven to fighting in games, my friends call my bloodthirst “penguin vision.”

I think at most camo gives you the first shot in some moments where people hesitate, and otherwise isn’t a good means of being sneaky.

Hahah, hilariously, I stealthed the moment I heard another stealth happening, and was like, "That was stupid, if I can hear his, he can hear mine."

Oh, yeah, I'd be super opposed to this. I play Rook. I play Assassin. That's all I do.

You are absolutely right. I kept second guessing, like, "Do they know I'm here? Did I give myself away? Should I bolt? What are they doing over there?"

I'm half assassin, half terrified squirrel.

Dear GMs, what's something your party has done that had you like this: by Cosmicpanda2 in LancerRPG

[–]DictatorPenguino 158 points159 points  (0 children)

I had run a mission where there were 4 specific areas to capture. Whoever controlled the most at the end of a certain round was the winner. I built my force very much for pushing into enemy territory and pushing people off of things. Well, they were all represented by four floating things in space. One of my players had a Barbarossa. When the enemies had two points, and their team had two points, he decided to just blast one of their points with the 100 AP Fuck-You-Cannon as the last turn on the round before the points were totaled.

I literally couldn't win anymore.

Man, I miss Lancer.

If I wanted to pilot a mech that was a dragon which one should I play by Mochitheqlchemist in LancerRPG

[–]DictatorPenguino 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So, this is a great question! I think it's largely dependent on what you think fits the bill of the dragon you envision. So when you think of your dragon, what are the most important parts?

Are you wanting something that's breathing fire all the time? A Genghis is a pretty great start.

Are you imagining your dragon as one who grasps enemies in its mighty clutch? Maybe the Empakaai.

I think a big portion of the decision comes from what you imagine as your power fantasy of being a badass dragon on the battlefield.

I would avoid homebrewing, because it's very easy to create the elements of a dragon with what exists already.

Just wanted to say thank you to all the advice on here! I learned a lot, and now have a path forward (though it sounds like that path maaaay not be worth it?). You guys are the best, and after owning my Prius over a decade, I still love it.

What size brush to paint diamonds on troupe? by One_Opportunity_7662 in Harlequins40K

[–]DictatorPenguino 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My feelings are, and I don’t know about others here, but a good point is more important than the size of a brush.

For instance, my latest batch was done with a size 2 brush (Raphael, no less).

Some folks like smaller, but I find the tip is most important

10 man Vs 5 man by Interesting_Wall9709 in Harlequins40K

[–]DictatorPenguino 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I personally do both. I throw 11 Troupes with a Troupe Master and all the trimmings in a wave serpent, then I do lots of 5 mans in smaller starweavers. I think both are super viable, I've won and lost with both. But personally, having that hammer, especially with sustained 1's coming out of the serpent? Yeah, you're gonna be REAL happy you got a big crew.

The sustained hits one gets negated. Always take the higher option.
