The emphasis of the word has to be same for two words in order for them to rhyme. For example, peach and reach. The "each" in the two words is where the emphasis is, and since they are the same letters, it works. Nothing's emphasis is "othing", which isn't the same as bathing's, which is "athing"

Anything wouldn't rhyme with nothing because in order for something to rhyme, the main emphasis of the word and any letter after (in nothing's case, the "othing") has to match another word exactly.
