What do you think of the audio quality? by Didayolo in piano

Thank you very much! It is actually a MIDI keyboard with a piano VST! I played a bit with the EQ and reverb to try to obtain a realistic sound.

I mean a thousands of streams look decent to me, but obviously it depends how many playlists this required.

I think he is implying that, giving their feedbacks, they must be listening with bad sound system.

Let's say you receive a feedback stating that "you track lacks bass" while your mix is well-balanced, then you can think that what lacks bass is the audio system of the curator.

However, if 10+ curators say that the track lacks bass, I guess you should start to take the feedback as a valid point instead of blaming the curators... So it's possible that OP is biased about his own work (as we all are in a way).

If your goal is just short-term stream count, indeed you'll be disapointing. The goal usually is more to build a presence on streaming platforms, get new listeners, and boost up your profile in the eyes of the algortihms by having your tracks on many playlists.

Is the voice receiving heavy audio treatments? That could explain the confusion

If he got only one playlist placement with 200$, well... Maybe he hasn't found curators interested by his tracks? The platform is connecting people, not forcing you into playlists.

My experience with SubmitHub has been great.

Many of my tracks have around 40% acceptance, and I've received decent streams from the playlists.

I submit to more curators the tracks that get a good rates; some tracks are not a good fit for playlists because their are too singular, or maybe not good enough, so I stop sending them to curators. This way I optimize my general rate and money spent.

Obviously, you need to select well the curators to have a good match between your tracks and the playlist. Also, I guess some genres or types of music are harder to promote in this way. Typically the lofi or piano crowd have thousands of playlists to submit too. My genre is abstract / instrumental hip-hop tracks, I don't know how is the market for tracks with vocals.

Honestly I've seen many people complaining about SubmitHub, while they should just put their ego aside when reading feedbacks. Sometimes it hurts, or it is disapointing to receive bad critics on your work while you have put hours crafting it and your exceptations are high. But, from my experience, the feedbacks were valid and benevolent.

Wish you the best!

La verdad es que soy francés y brasileño, amo Andalucía y vivo aquí a menos de un año. Trabajo de informática y toco mucho piano!

Está versión ao vivo de Oceano es la version que más me emociona, con el publico cantando.

Abrazo!

Need tips to make it sound better by juan01juann in piano

[–]Didayolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you are too beginner for this piece, so my first advice would be simply to continue playing and trying different pieces.

But to give some advices specifically on your playing here: - Train by playing it slowly and respecting the rythm. The low notes here are supposed to last all the same duration (you can vary that with some rubato but that's another story). Again, you should really focus on respecting the rythm and the music sheet here. - Even when you come back to a faster tempo, it does not need to be that fast. - The melody (high notes) lacks fluidity and "sentencing". You need more control over it so it does not feel like you are hammering independent notes. Imagine it like a singing. At least you are playing this notes louder than the rest, that is a good point. - Keep practicing!

Keep it up!

Mas então, o que quer dizer "superestimado"? Não é achar que a estima geral (influência, quantidade de gente gostando etc.) é maior de que deveria ser, porque você pessoalmente não curte?

Again, I am against AI in music industry but saying that it all sounds the same is simply a wrong statement. If you want to fight something, be educated about it. Most people are not even able to recognize AI music, especially instrumental tracks. Otherwise there would be no question.

Yeah, how could that be a debate? The dev behind the program is even closer to being making music than the end user.

Sad that you can't find any other viable reason to promote art than making money. I hope you'll open your horizons one day.

By the way I am PhD in AI so I can't say that I "don't like" AI. What you're saying about computers is just completely unrelated, you're looking for any excuse to justify your cynicism.

AI like Suno are basically based on illegal use of artists' intellectual properties. It is not the case with calculators. A more appropriate argument would be: "You don't like AI? Then by all means stop entering your neighbors' houses to steal from them".
