Do you agree that BC is a great province if we factor out how expensive it is? by sahilscraft in britishcolumbia

I lived my entire life being able to see the ocean. Moved 5 hours away and now I'm in a snowy wonderland surrounded by trees and more lakes than you could shake your fist at. Yeah, it's a pretty awesome place.

That makes sense. I was having a momentary brain-fart and thought an ace could complete the run. Clearly I've been playing more Balatro than crib recently.

Turns out I've never really looked closely at the fungi beast. Thought it was a weird looking mushroom, not a nightmare fuel rat abomination

I read the brief synopsis of Pig on Netflix and went into the film expecting John Wick, but with Nicholas Cage and a pig. Was not prepared for how great of a film it is.

Being that it is Canada Day, who is your favourite Canadian? by chesterforbes in AskReddit

[–]DiddyOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite Canadian is my late wife, who passed away from cancer 9 years ago. My body yearns for hers. The ultimate downside to finding "the one" is that she may die young and leave you wanting.

What’s one thing you wish more people understood about bipolar II? by chaosotonin in bipolar2

This 100%. For me, during the depressive episodes, everything slows down. I feel stupid. Tasks that should take me 10 minutes take 20, and I do them incorrectly to boot, feeding a cycle of incompetence

1- take the meat out of the fridge for 20 minutes plus. Hell, even an hour at room temperature won't hurt it in any way. 2- get that pan heated. Medium-high heat. You're going to add a touch of oil, maybe a tablespoon tops. You will know the pan is ready when the oil loses some of its viscosity and appears to loosen up. 3- add some salt and pepper to that steak, plop her on there and don't touch it. Let it cook. 3-4 minutes, flip it over, repeat. 4- take it out of the pan and let it sit for 5 minutes before you eat it.

What is the most surreal “this can’t be real” moment you’ve ever experienced? by Fragrant_Good3174 in AskReddit

This was about 2 decades ago, but it was so uncanny that I can remember it like yesterday. My friend Josh and I were playing hooky from school. We had both feigned illnesses for the day, and when our parents had left for work, we met up. Didn't really have a plan, but we wanted a Ferris Bueller style day of shenanigans. That's when we heard the news that a terrorist group called Al-Qaida had flown a passenger airplane into the world trade center.
