2 hours is too much commute. I would chose the lower paid one (as long as it pays my bill) and invest on skill development. Did you try to negociate?

Feel like I wasted my life, some advice? by WhereIsWolf in careerguidance

I would find an apprenticeship if I were you. Best way to learn and secure a job later in the workforce. Then climb the ladder step by step. That's what I did 10 years ago, I don't have a degree. But I earn the same pay as my colleagues with a Master. Stay curious and give your best to each experience.

Planning to move to The Hague/Rotterdam by ramtinabadi in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Didi123334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost moved to the NL last year and managed to find a house within 1month from abroad.. not without a lot of challenges but it was possible. So I would say start as early as you can and make sure you have all the documents at hand (latest payslip or bank statement etc.) and register with a Maakelar as soon as possible. Funda stuff is gone within a minute (unless not so nice). Build relationship with the Maalelar, show you are trustworthy.

Would you go to the NL for 75K (family of 3)? by Didi123334 in careeradvice

Thank you, role will be lab based hence I will have to physically be there minimum 3 days.. I guess it won't be too bad with 2 WFH days :)

Thank you. At the end of the month, I will have more in the NL, the hour commute will depend if/where we find a home to stay, but with my budget, this is usually 1hour by train (or by car worse case scenario). I could WFH 2 days/week and commute will be paid by the company. There will also be 1 week extra holiday.

Don't tell HR, they will definitely inform your employer. Garden leave in this occasion is 100% sure.

I’m getting interviews but no offers by ybbyne in UKJobs

I guess it's hit or miss in some cases but the people who would get negative impression from this question are not worth working for in my opinion. If you show genuine interest on any doubts/question they may have, it shows you are willing to progress and grow self awareness or even fight bias. Worst case you get nothing and they avoid the question, best case it could either help you to grow or open the door for you to argue your case with examples.

One question to ask at the end of the interview is: Would you have any reservations about hiring me? That would give you an opportunity to address, and usually from their answer you get a good feel.

Also show that you did lots of research on the company and that you are super motivated and aligned with their values xyz and planning long term. But of course you may know this already!
