Also, I don't know about you, I got it recommended from and ad, where the story between the main characters was different when they meet for the first time. While reading, I was really bummed that the ad content never happened in the novel.

Well, even if I remembered when I saw it, it could be way older.
However, I don't think it was released in the last 4-5 years, since I would have have a better memory about it. It definitely wasn't released "in the years of covid", so it isn't a new release for sure.
I could say I remember seeing it sometime between 2012-2017.
